I love how in the very first duel doto literally opened the most INSANE hand for dark magician and essentially did the equivalent of normal summon a 1600 attack vanilla 💀
THat last dew genuinely kept me on the edge of my seat. That was even closer than deion and rhyme's duel. Every single mistake just added to the action, the cockiness you've come to expect from these two, everything. I didn't know who I thought was going to win, but once doto made the critical mistake of filling his Spell/Trap zone, it was game set, even with the link monster.
I also learned this the hard way: Always leave one spell/trap slot open for any normal spell cards. You never know when you'll draw a raigeki or monster reborn

Exactly! People complain about it being "too complicated" and about it having lost the essence of what it was 20 years ago but I think today's complexity is what makes it a real fun game to play and master. Master Duels is amazing considering how it has so much room for improvement.

But the golden rule of Yugioh is to center ur deck around a theme and use a lot of support for it. If you’re building an exodia deck, for example, you’ll need a lot of cards with draw power so it’ll be easier to win by exodia
honestly im so happy for yugioh, its been sooo long since we got a title thats accessible and looks good, noobs to pro can play this. now if only we could get a good medabots game now, always wanted a popular game from them aswell.

If it helps, if a card says "Yadda yadda yadda "Dark Magician", then yadda yadda yadda", it means exactly the card that is named. If it says "Yadda yadda yadda "Dark Magician" monster, yadda yadda yadda", then it looks at the whole name to see if the quoted term is in it. This is why a card that searches for an "lswarm card" will find Evilswarm and Steelswarm cards, because "lswarm" is in both names.
I used to watch the show when I was younger and looked at some competitive yugioh every now and then but never actually played it myself much. But this game is so fun and I actually learned how to play good and made some good decks. This game is so fun so far especially with friends

My friend and I decided to explain all of our cards to each other, so our duels are fun and only take like 7 minutes, we learned our decks finally, so one day everyone is fast at playing... I love this content, you can upload as much yugioh as you want, but I think to gather content is hard.
As I didn't want to ruin the pace by pausing to read, I'll admit there was a lot I didn't understand (particularly in the first match) but the banter was entertaining and situations arising in the second round was absolutely hilarious. Also, lovely thumbnail!

This. This right here is what Yu-Gi-Oh is all about. A couple of guys having fun, not caring about meta or Links or 30,000 Special Summons or setting up Appolousa first turn, just shooting the shit, goofy trash-talk, and having a good time playing fun decks. THIS is fun. THIS is Yu-Gi-Oh to me.
I used a deck centered around Yami in Duel Links. And Dark Magician was my ace in the deck for a time, with a few cards that helped get him out easier (one monster counted as two tributes, another allowed me to special summon two tokens that could be tributes, etc.)
At 7:40 - Literally every cliche good guy vs bad guy speech EVER. Dotto(evil villain) - Muaha there's NOTHING you can do! I've WON Reax(good guy) - Yo uh, bet you won't. You're SO clearly superior that giving me a little extra time to definitely not figure something out won't set you back at all.
"Dont read it, just accept it" - Every single card player ever in the history of card games. Literal moments in every card game I played (HS / LoR / and so on) where I play a card and am just like "PLEASE dont hover the card to know what it does so the flashy bits go off"
I fear Dark Magician. All my decks are built around bringing cards back out of the graveyard, and that Dark Magic Circle just hard counters me. Any time I see it, negating it is priority.
I build a kaiba and Yugi deck together while making a perfect pendulum deck... I love dark magician with the perfect support cards... But congrats on 500k doto
My favorite is when you use a Dark Magician deck and your opponent uses a Dark Magician deck as well -- you can use super polymerization and fuse their monsters XD major troll move, but it's rare I get a matchup like that (not THAT rare actually)
