Haha funny. My soon to be 18 yo son also just declined his grand parents offering him a car for his birthday. He's being smart. He's going to uni, he doesn't want to be working for car insurance and gas. He prioritizes his studies. Mike, I am just about to start my Grad studies in Canada and this video hit home right now. I could relate to a lot of things and your advice is something I will definitely take along with me across the world! Thank a lot, Doc.
This advice really depends where you go to school-I used every one of my textbooks, and often in class. I had to do reading summaries of most chapters, take quizzes over what I read, and make presentations with a small group over the information read in the last week. Plus, none of them were available online!
I'm trying to help my niece through chemistry right now and I have given her my 25 year old textbook many times. Trying to find the online textbook every time she needs to look up something is a hassle. I don't know if it is just her not keeping it available, but I only see access to it when she is using a homework module.
I love this Uncle-Nephew relationship. Wish I could have a relationship like that, but I got social anxiety and I'm also super introverted irl. That's why that relationship advice is real. I'm attending a boarding school (not college, still too young for that lol) and trust me, that relationship advice is real. You get in, make everyone your friend. Your teacher, your whole year, the years above you (your seniors) and later on the years under you (your juniors). Trust me, it'll save you one day when you need it.

Good luck!! It’s gonna fly by so make sure you take care of yourself and make friends with ppl that care about u! Study hard and remember the hard work will be worth it! ❤
@@Sara-qw7lc thank you so much!
Aww, seems it was yesterday when Daniel and his brothers were answering Dr. Mike's questions, and now he is going to College! That's sweet! ☺
9:30 - that dap up was so clean
😍 not a kid anymore, but a young man... I love the chill/humility/naivety/and practicality!! Very smart to not get a flashy car for university, dont need the added stress of having it stolen or have ppl wanting you just for the 'money/nice things'... thrift shopping is fantastic, you can save money on buying things still in good condition and use the extra money you saved for other things like tuition/groceries/having fun.... mama bear raised her boy right 👏👏👏
Daniel with the “dry campus” just made me laugh 😂 soooooo much hahah
SAMEE
I'm going to be a senior this fall so I'll REWATCH THIS AGAIN next summer!
Sam’s laugh is everything
Haha funny. My soon to be 18 yo son also just declined his grand parents offering him a car for his birthday.
He's being smart. He's going to uni, he doesn't want to be working for car insurance and gas. He prioritizes his studies. He's also definitely not materialistic and just takes the train or rides his bike to go see his friends. Self worth and self esteem come from within, not from expensive cars or clothes
idk why but 9:32 this is so satisfying and wholesome to watch
I literally JUST watched the videos that you filmed with your nephews 3 years ago and to go from that to seeing Daniel all grown up is trippy.
Wow, time flies! He's so grown up! This was such a fun video to watch!
This is amazing. The prefect advice from our favorite doctor.
2:01 Daniel: Who's your daddy? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can't stop laughing
Agree with the waiting for the relationship. All the people who have gotten in a relationship my first semester of freshman year have all had terrible experiences: toxic relationship, trouble with friendships, and messy breakup. Wait until at least your second semester. I’m a senior now!
“do you know your tuition cost?”
“no”
“how much is it?”
mike tripping 💀
Dr. Mike is so nice with his nephew! It's awesome.
It’s honestly crazy how fast Daniel has grown up he literally look just like you especially when he smiles!
His voice is deeper than my past
Bro being this guys nephew must be the coolest thing
College is a bigger adjustment than you realize. My parents dropped me off at the start of my freshman year & it hit me I was on my own. Dude I cried 😂 I was homesick a lot but eventually felt okay.
He’ll be fine, he has to figure it out haha. Good luck kid!
I bet there is relatively close to an equal percentage of people who thought Mike was a little funny cringe, Daniel was a little funny cringe, and both were lol. I love these kinds of videos because it gives you the confidence to just be yourself.
Loved this! Can we get an update from Daniel after he’s been at IU for a few months? Also, Mike needs to wear suits more often 🙌
I like that he was realistic about his first car and wanted an older one that wasn't flashy. Good kid.
he's a smart kid, he's chill. you should be proud man
Do you like watermelons
I don't
@@beverlyeades9890 watermelon is pretty good, but i dont eat it often
Funniest video you’ve made, love the subtle humor.
He's so grown up now, your sister has raised a humble but funny kid. Love how he gives you 💩😂
Hello
Oh wow Daniel is going to college! Seems like yesterday that Daniel was on the show. Thank God great uncles such as dr Mike exists! Good luck Daniel! Always remember to stay true to yourself!
I saw him in Kelly school of business so I guess that’s good news
Dr. Mike is brutal!! Gotta love it.
He grew up so fast, Doctor Mike is practicing his speech when he has his own kids, he's a good uncle.
I LOVE their relationship. Uncle/nephew goals🥰
Mike is really great at what he does! Entertaining and attracting intrest. He as a person, from what I believe,is a great and funny guy! Quite frankly he is my favourite RUclipsr!
I’m in my 20s, I’ve already went through college, moved out, pay loans but somehow Dr. Mike is making ME nervous about all of those things
Congratulations to your nephew for graduating and going to college! I bet he is going to do great! I wish him the best of luck. Actually, I’m going into college myself, so this was very helpful. Thank you!
Fair warning, midwest gets some tough weather. Learn how to navigate it for your safety. Good luck at college Daniel! Sweet to see Mike make sure this kid is ready for college. Thanks for the laughs you two
Umm this kid lives in Syracuse --- trust me, he knows about rough winter weather
You wrote and IOU to IU is the most solid joke Dr. Mike has ever said. Well done!
I dont get it, can you please explain it?
@@HAbarneyWK IOU means “I owe you”. IU means Indiana University. Dr. Mike make a quick play on acronyms to describe that his nephew will be taking out student loans.
@@stacik8626 ooo, thanks!
Mike, I am just about to start my Grad studies in Canada and this video hit home right now. I could relate to a lot of things and your advice is something I will definitely take along with me across the world! Thank a lot, Doc.
MAN WAS ABOUT TO HAND OVER A LAMBO. And his nef refused it. THATS HUMILITY. His mother raised him well.
Dr.Mike seems to have such a *nerdy gentleman* attitude and his nephew has such a… a *frat boi* attitude 😅😆
Ikr hahhh
Am going for med school next week and this is just perfect
Thank you Dr Mike ❤️
Doctor mike is such a good uncle I would kill to have one like him
This advice really depends where you go to school-I used every one of my textbooks, and often in class. I had to do reading summaries of most chapters, take quizzes over what I read, and make presentations with a small group over the information read in the last week. Plus, none of them were available online!
So true, they can be quite useful and needed.
Doctor Mike, I love your relationship with your nephews!!
