- Free firewood calls come in once in a while and some are good ones! When the wood is cut into rounds and right next to the road an all I have to do is load and run...I am your man! This one might lead to a lot more FREE firewood for me!

I knew of a self-made millionaire...ended up with one of the biggest private property portfolios in the County. Was in his 70s driving back from visiting his grandchildren on a Sunday morning and spotted a pile of free tree service wood. Within an hour he was spotted in overalls loading his truck. Some cynics laughed...when he died he was buried in a coffin he bartered his dad's guns for when he was maybe 40. Left millions to local charities ...a legend...life long believerr in the goodness of average Americans instead of trying to turn a quick buck lying to and trying to scare them. 🇺🇸

Free wood is my favorite type of wood and that 1 looked sweet. Could you maybe park trailer somewhere close and go back and forth with truck, it is 2x loading but you dump it at the end and save some mileage

Ecxept mine is hard maple- greenish, and very old well seasoned soft maple. I hafta cut the latter, as its big logs n chunks, but thats fine- its still solid, and dries out in days. ( The fire pit is hungry!!)

You might want to consider a fun junket to Las Vegas. When your luck is that powerful it'd be a shame to not use it! - For the next while, you could really use a ton dump truck, dump, haul heavier loads, and don't need a trailer to haul more than a cord. The dump function is an incredible, awesome, astonishing labor and time saver. - With all that firewood coming to you, will you be able to sell it all? Deliver? Maybe your buddies, Buffett and Gates will help you. They know firewood is where the big bucks are.

Yup, a lot of tree service wood is all over the place...their job is to get it on the ground.... not make firewood.
You need a small tow behind splitter for these occasions. I do too 🤣
No, I just take it to my wood yard and split it...they want it gone not a work station set up and noise with a mess.

I always cringe when they call and say I’ve got free wood all cut up for ya . 9 time outa 10 is cut crooked and in various lengths but that stuff didn’t look to bad . Nice score Chris keep building them relationships and you will never have to buy wood again

sometimes to get wood all you need is to be at the right place at the right time with the right equipment.
Brother pulled into a gas station to get fuel pulling a 14ft dump trailer and a tree service walks over and asked if he knew anyone that would like some wood. They really didn't want to be making 50 mile trips back to the shop with it.
Brother calls me up and says to stick around and he's on his way.
It turned out I ended up with 4 loads of wood that day and a 10 gallon fuel bill

I get people that call me every now and then that had a tree cut down or one that blew over wanting me to come clean it up. They pay me and I get wood. Really nice when they had a tree service come in to take them down and they are already all limbed up and all that mess gone lol. Had one recently that had about a 24 inch hard maple taken down. Gave me $150 to remove it and I got probably around a full cord to sell. It was real dead standing the bark was already falling off when I picked it up was ready to sell basically as soon as I split it. It was on the side of her driveway too so not like I had to go out into the woods or anything it was right there on her driveway

Yup,l it has been wet here too , rain about every other day!
A similar chance meeting several years back gave me access to a 640 acre heavily wooded property 45 minutes from home with private dirt bike trails to boot, it saves me a 3hr drive to state trails and I have keys for access anytime I want. Did a tree removal 🤑on same said property on Wed next to his home and he sent me home with his Stihl 460 for a rebuild job🤑, returning his saw tomorrow and removing another tree🤑 near his house which he does not feel comfortable with dropping. 🤑sometimes a guys just falls into it and other times you step in it.🤪

That is a whole lot of good looking wood already cut. Too bad you can't bring the trailer in. It costs a lot more to make the extra trips. Sounds like you have a couple of good contacts, because you can't have too much wood.

Is there a way that you could park one of the trailers at the property and go back and load your truck and then take to the trailer and transfer the wood to it. You could maybe save yourself some time and work? 🤔👍❤️😃

Take ur dump trailet park it on the side road outside the property. Get the wood with the truck and stack it in the trailer
That way u get more wood in one trip.
She said NO trailers so I did what she wanted to build trust and now I am in like Flin! If i showed up with a trailer I would not have been let in....even the lawn guy has to park way out on the next road with his trailer or he would not be allowed in so...
Dangit, you'll be buffed and chiseled in no time flat! Maybe Bert could fix up a log lift for yout Ultra. That would help wiht the oak.
I have several log lifts ...my arms, Gavin, Bert and Adam AND a tractor..... I have used several splitters with log lifts, they do not save time or much effort and are mostly used as tables and it is smarter to either buy smaller wood or rip the big ones down so you do not have to wrestle those big nasty ones around to get them to and on your machine. But I am no expert, I only sell a couple hundred cords every year.

It is city water and sewer.... this was way in the back of the 20 acre property.
Talk them into at least the baby dumper. Or park up front with dump trailers and drive the tractor back and forth with the grapple

No, we have this thing called winter here that starts in August and lasts until the next June ....so no.... Months with below zero temps here.

For what? I have a complete functioning body that is faster and better than a stick for loading wood.
You could save handling by splitting each truck load instead of tossing it on the ground.
Still have to get it out of the truck and that day was the only day for a week that I could get the wood so I got it.
Maybe after she gets to trust you she will let you bring the baby dumper on the property.
I doubt it, the lawn guy who got me in there has a small utility trailer for his rider and he is not allowed to drive in her driveway either after doing the lawn for over 10 years now ...he parks on the street. so...

A couple hours for $360 worth of wood and potential for LOTS more and contacts for a few other properties with LOTS trees and firewood for free so....I say YES! This will open up the door for thousands of dollars of free wood. Some times you need to step back and see the whole forest not just one tree in front of you....just sayin'!

Yup. It is about average for most of the USA....Rural areas (lots of trees and few people) get $150-250 and in the big cities (lots of people and few trees) a cord goes for $500-800...location matters.

Nope, side boards would do me no good, my weight was maxed out as it was. It is a 10 year old 1/2 ton and riding on the axles is not to smart safe or legal.

Why don’t you take your trailer, just leave it out off her property. Them pick - up load to the trailer . Them you can bring a trailer and pick - up load back to your wood 🪵 yard. 😊 remember use between your ear 👂 for THINKING 🤔 and feet 🦶 for dance 🕺. Get an another hitch welder on the back off the big N&N them you could pull baby N&N and plus pick- up all in one trip . 😊 call V train on the highway 😮.
To much loading and un-loading PLUS she said NO trailers. If I brought a trailer she would have cut me off and kicked me out! So that would be dumb.
