This is fantastic! I'm trying to get my color guard cadets into basic armed exhibition drill and find your videos to be perfect for beginners. Regarding the practice pipe, is the 44" measurement from end of cap to end of cap, or is it 44" of pvc and then add the caps? Does this type of practice "rifle" also work for spins? Unfortunately, for my cadets, I am also trying to learn and I think we could all use an inexpensive drill rifle at home. Thanks!

That's awesome to hear! A drill rifle is typically 43.5" before the rubber buttplate so you could go 44" on the actual pipe itself and be pretty close to accurate if the rifles would normally have rubber buttplates.
It ABSOLUTELY works for spins! A lot safer if you don't fill the pipe up with anything (i.e. sand)!

What is the best way to weigh it down to get close to regulation? The first one I made was able to do was 6.5 pounds with play sand.

@@calliebunter117 Sand is definitely the top option. You could always go up in diameter and length SLIGHTLY to get a bit more weight out of it, though.

@@DrillDynamics Fishing weights work too. I used 4-8oz fishing weights and put them throughout to keep the balance.
