I played this mod pack for the first time today - I’m a horror movie veteran and am generally quite difficult to scare. Well, I thought I was, until I heard a distant screaming sound whilst I was mining. I stopped in my tracks and nervously looked around, I couldn’t hear anything so I figured it was just the game trying to freak me out. Then, I heard another scream, this time much louder. I frantically looked around, only to see a cave dweller at the top of my mine shaft frantically sprinting down towards me. I’ve never screamed whilst playing a video game, until today.

I wish more people knew about Fear Nightfall, it was pretty unbalanced and brutal early on but since v11 it's gotten a lot better/more balanced it's really underrated and way more fun and fleshed out than From The Fog imo

How did the balance it?
For anyone looking to play this modpack, I must warn you...
The basic predator is the most dangerous mob you can find in the jungle biome.
They move extremely fast, hit really hard, and COMPLETELY ignore invincibility frames. Meaning it can kill you in under half a second. They are also extremely stealthy. The sound lets you know they're around, but not WHERE they are.
Those things have killed me COUNTLESS times before I could even notice they exist.
A few of those times, I was in FULL PROT IV NETHERITE ARMOR. And it killed me in less than a second.

Suev would've been instantly dead if that was a Basic Predator.
Also, they only spawn on the surface at night. It was day.

1:09:00 damn, run almost ended there and then. Every survival mechanism, from the extra enchantments you just made to that tarot card had to be used to allow you to scrape by.

Tips on how to survive scary mod packs and deal with scary stuff in general :
Step 1: lower game volume
Step 2: Turn on the lights
Step 3: listen to goofy being chilling remix
Step 4: enjoy having the horror experience be turned into a goofy experience

Try making machicolations which are spaces underneath and in between the top/highest wall, not on top the wall those are different. With that you can even shoot targets under your watch tower too.

guessing the villager around 56:37 is the supplementaries wandering trader - the red merchant - it sells fireworks and bombs, also throws bombs at mobs
This is a wonderfully long video with so many goodies! I just wish this world and mods were explored more, I was extremely curious about the hanging man and all the looting dungeons. Even the items you can make via cauldrons. Would LOVE to see 100 days or more on this.
No matter how much damage mobs deal, shield is so op it blocks everything lmao
Protip:
When u see cave dweller chasing u, immediately place some block and craft slab in the room of 1×2 block (like u strip mine and then break 1 block place slab on top of it, because cave dweller cant crawl trought half block so yeah.
Edit: ah forgot cave dweller still can hit you, so get away 3 blocks from them, then attack and run, then repeat.

great video! here are some tips for next modpack, all the backpacks are upgradable in size, the tarot cards have a torat card pack holder which holds all the cards and you should have a bauble slot always check the bauble slots, the biomancy mod(wierd flesh thing) had some crazy weapons you could have made! always put something like @biomany in jei to see all the things a certain mod has if you want to know easily what you can make. look forward to your next video 😁 p.s those mobs you were fighting at the end were from the son of sins mod

I started playing the mod some days ago with a friend. I was basically enjoying the most beautiful paisage in my 13 years of minecraft, i was recording it with my phone, we were on the top of a majestic castle, it was an afternoon in the game and we were looking for items. I was looking over the horizon down there, and when i realized, there was that character running away. I asked my friend if he had come down, he was in my back...
I was shocked with my friend, and watching the video i made, could see those blank eyes staring and looking up at me before i could see him.
Never felt that way in the game before. Im 22 yo!

I believe there’s certain settings in Minecraft which allow you to disable fog, which also disables nether fog. It may be on a certain Minecraft client, though.

you can add more stuff in your traveller backpack ( put stuff in crafting table boxes) it will stay there when ever you closed the backpack

i made a massive mob grinder under my floating base, tons of spikes with flowing water above to get the mobs into the spike pit, hoppers under ofc

You should try to use shaders that do not break every single entity's animation next time though, you should do some testing to see which works
