  • In this video I'm going to review the mighty little Lee Auto Bench Prime. I'll show you how to put it together, how to load the primers and also show it in action.
Previously I had been priming my cases with my Lee Classic Turret press. That system worked great for over 2 years and still works today, however there was one thing about the setup I didn't like. That was the little hanger that held the priming mechanism. It was made of sharp plastic and I kept getting gouges and scratched by the darn thing working around the bench.
I looked around online and being a Lee Precision customer already, I decided to give their bench priming unit a try. So far first impressions are it's simple, solid and works like a champ! It's faster than my old method as well.
If you're looking for a bench priming system on a budget, you can't go wrong with the Lee Auto Bench Prime.
Stay tuned for more Product reviews!

Hey John, priming off the press does give you a very good feel, I agree. This isn't far off from that though and it's much faster. Another slick little tool from Lee.

It does Jesse. Actually works better than I thought it would. Makes short work of priming 100 cases.

the plastic mechanisms do not hold up,,,had mine for about a year,,,several problems, finally threw it away and went back to my frankford arsenal hand primer.

Hey jc26527. Yes, the plastic parts can be 'iffy' for sure. I've already ordered spares (first round of parts is always free from Lee) and will be keeping an eye on the parts. I've primed about 300-400 so far with no problems. I do know they also update the tools as they find potential problems. 👍

Used my Lee priming system on both the turret press and the separate primer now for over a year and 5000 plus reloads and never a problem so far. Mainly 9mm,38 spl. 45, 223 and 380.

cut a tennis ball and place it over the primer hanger sharp bits. Just like a tennis ball on a trailer ball hitch

That's a good idea. However now that I have the priming tool, I can't see myself going back to the old method. The priming tool is so much faster and easier.
