This was honestly one of my favorite years in cinema in quite a while. Excellent list my friend. Here’s my top 19: 1. Marriage Story 2. The Lighthouse 3. Portrait Of A Lady On Fire 4. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 5. The Farewell 6. JoJo Rabbit (This honestly might be in my top 3 after several rewatches) 7. The Irishman 8. Uncut Gems 9. For Sama 10. Parasite 11. Honey Boy 12. Booksmart 13. Joker 14. Waves 15. The Nightingale 16. Knives Out 17. 1917 18. Midsommar 19. Little Women I saw 145 movies in 2019. What a phenomenal year for film.
I remember, during one of my viewings of Endgame in theaters, thinking that it felt like the climax of blockbuster filmmaking in general for some reason. Who could have guessed that it really would be the last film of its level for so, so long. I don't see something that big happening in theaters again... maybe ever?
Going to miss this channel man, but Im really loving your content on loverboy, great stuff. As for my top 10: 1. The Lighthouse 2. Parasite 3. The Irishman 4. Marriage Story 5. Portrait of a Lady on Fire 6. Once Upon A Time in Hollywood 7. Waves 8. Birds of Passage 9. Midsommar 10. Ad Astra 11. Uncut Gems 12. Sorry We Missed You 13. Monos 14. One Cut For the Dead 15. Knives Out 16. Apollo 11 17. Pain and Glory 18. A Hidden Life 19. 1917 20. Doctor Sleep (biggest surprise of the year for me)
A shame I only discovered this channel recently still, love your style on how you make these videos as well as your cheery and charismatic tone Simply Wonderful
Glad to see The Irishman in this list. I know it's a Scorsese film, but I didn't see too much people loving it the same way I did, which was a bummer. I also discovered Monos last year thanks to you and boy oh boy was it incredible! I can't believe the way they shot that movie in those locations, simply amazing! I'm gonna miss your lists and reviews man, you always speak with great passion and sincerity, you've grown some much since the first time I saw one of your videos. I always love your input and how you see art. Much love!
I also recommend a short from director Mike Mills called I Am Easy To Find which is easy to find on RUclips. It is honestly one of the most beautiful and emotionally resonant things I’ve ever seen in my life and was definitely in my top 10.
Bailey: This is just *my* favorite films of the year, *MY* top films. I do not believe in best or worst, good or bad. Objectivity in art is not a thing to me, it is purely subjective. Absolutely love you put Endgame at the top. I was shocked I loved it as much as I did as well. Wasn’t in my top ten personally, it’s my number 19 actually, but totally understand how it could be someone’s.

I was gonna say Jojo Rabbit is one of my favourites of that year. Then I remembered that it was this year that it was officially released in the u.k at least(I think it was the last film I saw before lockdown).
I'll be real, I like this channel more than loverboymedia. "Why I Love____" every time is just not interesting. "What I think About _____" is far more interesting. I think that's why loverboymedia doesn't get the views you want. Breaking Banter was closer to that. I understand not wanting to review every movie and being stressed out, but being selective with the films you talk about, but not always having the same premise as "why I love" would be much better and I would continue to watch your vids. Maybe choose a relevant film that you have a strong opinion about (positive or negative) and making a statement about it which isn't just "I love this" or "I didn't love this" but maybe "here's what this movie has to say, and here is how I feel about it" ... Like just hearing you talk about movies here and your thoughts has more value than a generic film essay once a month that you put way too much effort into that's overly sentimental about things you like. Honestly, I turn off the loverboy videos usually after a few minutes and have never watched one all the way through.
If you really cared about his content, you would be totally accepting of it, disappointment I understand, but you had absolutely no reason to type all that crap out, it's disrespectful and inconsiderate.
@@spacecop9500 I disagree. I just shared my honest feelings about the value I get out of his content in an attempt to give him some meaningful feedback, which I feel would help improve his content. If you feel that was disrespectful or inconsiderate, you are overly sensitive. You're stance is the equivalent to saying that teachers are disrespectful to their students for teaching them how to be better writers, or consumers of a product letting that company know that they enjoyed their previous version more. If you think that I would type what I typed while simultaneuously not caring about his content, that is shockingly dense. People who care about his content are the ONLY people who would type something like that. Honestly, fuck off.
@@ed1rko17 You only typed it for the sake of what your personal idea of what his content should be. You criticized him for growing his channel and requested he devolve back into what he was doing before, which he has already stated he was not happy with. It IS rude and inconsiderate to label his passion and work as a "Product" that needs to be consumed by you.
Nothing you said was "Constructive" in any way. You simply resulted to being degrading and insensitive because he isn't doing it the way YOU want him to.

Just started leftovers after seeing u recommend it it’s awesome
Great year for movies. My favourites are easily portrait of a lady on fire and uncut gems.
I was gonna say are you gonna do a top 20 of 2020 but I don’t think 20 movies came out this year lol
I was not expecting that #1
Can you do a 2020 list
Do a top 20 of 2020 because we actually had some pretty great films this year despite the circumstances
I’ve seen 116 movies from this year so far
there's gonna be a 2020 video on Loverboy 👍
I was gonna say Jojo Rabbit is one of my favourites of that year. Then I remembered that it was this year that it was officially released in the u.k at least(I think it was the last film I saw before lockdown).
So you finally saw waves. Lol I know that’s why you were originally delaying the video.
No, don’t take away Breaking Banter !
Bailey's favourite movie of 2019 is a Comic Book Movie 😳
