Amazing how articulate and well versed in inner city culture Curtis was at such a young age.
He speaks well, but sometimes he doesn't actually quite answer the question he's being asked.

I remember the Guardian Angels on the subways as a kid. Will never forget their red berets. Sliwa is running for mayor, and the bulk of the city residents are going to vote against him. Insane.
I moved to NY in 1981 from a different country as a teenager. Even though I was used to fighting, I often still felt terrified, especially being alone on the subway or on an empty street. But whenever I saw a patrol of Angels I felt a huge sense of relief knowing that I was safe.

At 23 years old , Curtis was a great articulate speaker. I had thr pleasure of meeting him around 2017, while as MTA worker he had given me his card. I was manning a barricade and said " sir this area is closed , and seeing it was him i said " but not for you"id Love to see him as mayor of New York.

I remember you back in these days. I was about 17 and took the subways everywhere. How did we get so old and still stay so damn good looking! Love you Curt hugs to you Nancy and the Magnificent 17..
I remember this first time it was aired. I was 7 years old and my dad was transfered from the UK to UN mission in NYC. My dad was a diplomat so our entire family moved to NYC and as part of our induction, we were instructed not to travel in the Subway. For me, everything was exciting and in our first summer we had the big black out. Our apartment was on the 45th floor but my dad was fit and young then and used a rucksack to haul groceries and water everyday. My brothers and I helped by relaying water jugs 15 floors at a time. 2 years later, Star Wars happened and we saw in the first week and life was never the same again. 15 years later I came back to the US after completing my masters degree and joined the US Marines and served for 12 years and went back home to the UK.
My favorite folks in the world, they are Earth angels, for sure. God bless them!!

I remember always seeing Curtis walking through subway cars while moving about the subway system during the mid 80s as a young kid and also through the 90s. A few years ago again walking the same beat. As a native New Yorker I can attest this man is the real deal. Thank you sir for your dedication to our glorious City of New York!♥️🗽
It's ironic that when Curtis was dealing with the gang member, the officer started saying how the angels weren't "professionals" an the interaction shows the issue with them when that same officer had ZERO clue what gang the guy belonged to or even that he was a gang member at ALL while Curtis DID! So who exactly are the "professionals"? A tin badge & blue shirt doesn't suddenly make you a "professional" with superpowers! The vast majority of officers have little to no real training, are overweight & some with serious mental health issues! Most have zero knowledge or understanding of who's who in the streets & even less understanding of how to deal with them properly! So If you ask me the angels are far more qualified than police! They could learn a LOT if trained by Curtis or others like him who actually understand the streets! It seriously always seemed obvious to me that police were very jealous of & bitter about the angels because they know the public doesn't trust the police much(many for good reason) or feel safe & protected by them but everyone does when angels are around who'll do what's necessary to keep order & peace while handling it well without a power trip. I really wish the Guardian Angels were around still like they were back when I was a kid! I always looked up to them & still think they're such positive role models for kids, boys especially! An today theres basically none I can think of! An thats not only sad but it's unacceptable!

there is no better reward than them running to you for help. On active duty in the military, I saw mom's go to tears as their child's salute was adjusted because of respect going both ways. I gladly went through hell and back knowing it was for the right cause.

I live in the Scottish highlands, there’s a handful of houses in my village. I want to visit NYC soon but I’m 44, I’m a mum of three grown kids and I’ve never been to a city before - pathetic! Anyway, I remember as a kid seeing reports, even over here, about the Guardian Angels of New York. All I knew of New York was from movies and and it always looked big and scary. I remember thinking the people with the red berets were so brave and so kind to stand up for people. I’m still in awe of Curtis and how he decided to do something positive in his city - if only the same could be said about the folk in charge of government etc.
Imma bet a few people are here after watching that episode of always sunny in Philadelphia.

One of the consequences is that Sliwa, being Republican, will need to mount a very exceptional campaign to get elected mayor that will be accompanied by a miracle. Giuliani had to work up less of a sweat to get elected, because back in the early 1990's the majority of the damage caused by the Librads as a result of their consciousness engineering hadn't occurred yet.
