Here's a new video on the Hoka One One Clifton 3s that are some of my favourite long distance runners for triathletes because they've got one of the smoothest rides of any runner I've tried ruclips.net/video/euf1pIcfWO8/видео.html
Yes, I'm commenting on some of your videos I watched awhile back. I have now bought some of these things. Love my new speedo swim bag! I don't like the paddles, the ones to make sure my stroke is in the right position. I feel like they are either cutting off the circulation of my middle finger or I'm wrapping my index and pinkie fingers around the edges to keep them from moving around. Is there anything else like it that would stay in place a little better? Google is not being my friend when searching.
Those paddles can be a pain when you're getting used to them. Make the strap tight enough that they don't fall off your hand when held at your side, but not so tight that they're uncomfortable. If you get that nice middle ground then it's all up to you to get the right stroke that won't knock them off your hand. Keep at it, it'll come.
Thanks for the advice, I'll force myself to use them at least a few laps every time I'm in the pool. Your swim videos have definitely helped a lot! Thank you so much for putting them together. Getting some sense of comfort with swimming is helping me finally wrap my head around doing a tri.
no drag shorts dude ? Help to build up back and shoulder strength without compromising on your technique (by placing paddles on your hands)...and when you take them off for a quick 500m you feel so floaty light in the water...I love my mesh drag shorts.
We've done drag sets, mostly with chords and t-shirts, before. But this season we never pulled out the chords for any workouts. That said, it's still locked tightly in the group swim box at the pool, just not in my bag. But yeah, definitely a good addition!
Just Me There's a former elite swimmer who swims in one of our groups, and he refuses to wear anything but board shorts because he wants workouts to always be harder and not easier with toys.
You might find it obvious, but since I am just recreational swimmer, I can not find out what are the buoy and the black band for? How do you use it? You always show it, saying it is critical and I have no clue where do you put it or what you do with it... :D
Thanks Taren, black band would probably be for me great way to drown :D. I am thinking of joining my first sprint triathlon this year and the swimming is my biggest fear, your videos help greatly.
Yes, interesting one. I only found out there was a US pronunciation while watching some swimming videos the other day. Your pronunciation is good with tri dudes from the UK Taren :)
Fairly big update for anyone new to seeing this RUclips channel ruclips.net/video/ci5DrmUXEFo/видео.html
I just released a new video called "24 Hour Triathlon Nutrition Plan for Beginners" peep it here: ruclips.net/video/xrLsMf7WuCQ/видео.html

my favorite video since i met the channel
Right on, thanks!
Does all the equipment fit in Speedo's backpack? It is that I am between a 45-liter like the Tyr or the 35-liter Speedo. Thanks.

Where's your finis agility?
i love your vids
I will be passing on the contoured paddles, because I don't support cruel and unusual punishment
Haha! We occasionally do snorkel, band, pull, paddle sets. DEATH!
Great video. Loved this one a lot. Where did you pick up your roka gear? Online or in a store? Want to try their goggles.
I grabbed the Sim Shorts directly from Roka, and the goggles from Swimoutlet. They make great stuff!
Taren you should do a review of the TYR mummie mesh bag
Luka Auld I've never actually seen one in the wild. Just looked it up, sweet colours!
Thx
Thanks Taren...again
Awesome video! Signed up for my first sprint triathlon at the end of August. Really appreciate your pointers.:)
Must not forget your Captain America Speedo! Lol
Do you recommend the Roka Sim shorts over the blue seventy core shorts?
I've never tried the Blue Seventy but I've used A LOT of Roka product and it's always been awesome, really awesome, like crazy awesome!
Taren, have you used the finis tempo trainer a lot? Are you using all the paddles (Agility, freestyler and ISO) for drills? Thanks!
Everything you see in my videos comes out of my swim bag, so yes, I use the equipment if I'm doing a drill session.

If you're new to triathlon and under if your training is set up properly you might dig this video ruclips.net/video/KM46lIoXehQ/видео.html

I love drag shorts sets, even if its just a pair of baggy shorts and out the jammers...feel the burn baby

I agree with him..jammers are for competitions any thing else is training.

Buoy between legs, black band around ankles. Helps you focus on your arm turnover and stroke
Thanks Taren, black band would probably be for me great way to drown :D. I am thinking of joining my first sprint triathlon this year and the swimming is my biggest fear, your videos help greatly.
I love your channel but I hate the way you say buoy. Lol, I didn't know there was a US vs. Non-US pronunciation of that word.
I'm gonna blow your mind here, I'm Canadian so it's probably even a third pronunciation. How would you say it phonetically?
I knew it! Can spot a Canadian from a mile away!!!
We say itˈbo͞oē
Basically, boo eee
Eric Vinton Did my curses and lack of polish give me away? I'm proud of that dammit! Haha
Exactly
