Innercity 99 was classic stuff, but it sounds old and too complicated for today's generation
The problem is the new American crowd doesn't know any of this music, so they are just standing around not knowing how to react. Real fans would of lost their shit. Fans in other countries still respect and love the original Tiesto and the music of that generation. All these American kids want is new Big Room/EDM garbage.

Silence is one of my favorites song of all time, I can't imagine hearing live and the fact that the crowd were with no excitement is just awful
Same here I get goosebumps which dont activate unless listening to silence the track takes me to a whole new life experience I sometimes dare not to close my eyes how good it is, but cant blame the crowd most of them are to young to even know what song they are listening to

Back in my day when Tiesto played Silence, the crowd would go nuts, and everyone knew it and would sing along the lyrics.
It's different generations. I think it's great how he carries on the legacy by exposing the new generation to the origin of it all. Despite the fact that "his" tracks are probably mostly ghost produced (by Dennis Waakop)

Mannn Im 17 and i grew up listening to Tiesto my whole life since 03 when he was in his prime and Im thankful for my pops exposing me to the beautiful art and color that hides within this music I just wish people now knew the songs from before and how powerful and energy giving they are but they just don’t tend to feel it the way I do I guess. mainstream music just isn’t it for me. Who knows maybe one day I’ll be able to bring some old sounds back in the future just recognize. Peace n Love have a good day ✌🏽

8:46 Yea she knew. And that was a beautiful genuine reaction of someone who knew exactly what was coming. It broke my heart when I looked at the following faces and there was no reaction. They don't know. They don't know its significance. It's not their fault. They went for the instagram stories and pictures. It hurt to see the drop come and the crowd going meh. They didn't even react until the fireworks came. SMH... More impressed with the fireworks than the music.
If I had been there I don't know what I would've done... probably cried a bit. It would've been amazing to hear it live. But the mood of the crowd not reacting the same way I would've would have ruined my mood as well.
I've watched the original video that was filmed in Holland countless numbers of times. I fantasized when I was a teenager of going to Europe and seeing Tiesto and hearing the Adagio For Strings Mix live. Once EDC AND Ultra became a thing I knew that I wouldn't want to attend them in America. Only in Europe and maybe in Japan and Korea. People are more appreciative over there.
I'm glad I wasn't in that crowd. It would've ruined my mood.
Proof that DJ Tiesto still remembers his true self. The main reason he left trance for money was that the American music industry, as well as the people themselves, weren't into his stuff when he tried to enter as early as 2007. So he had to sacrifice trance to sign to American record labels.
This explains why only his recent 2014 album is under Universal
I actually was here when Tiesto was promoting his Elements of Life 2007 World Tour, it was a great time. However he should have had more faith in himself to make more genuine music. Instead he brought a bunch of talentless hacks like Martin Garrix and Hardwell and so many other garbage DJs. It was sad. in 2007 when he played all his trance classics the crowd went nuts
Real EDM Martin Garrix was often generic at first (apart from Animals and Virus) but after he left Spinnin Records and created his own label, he improved. But still it’s nothing compared to 1993-2005 (maybe 2008-2010 but oh well)
This is why Deadmau5 often criticises EDM today

You guys weren't there, I was and I gotta tell you that the crowd went nuts when Adialgo for strings came up. Best part of EDC was right at that moment. To be fair he brought out John Legend that might and killed the vibe, It wasn't until Adialgo for strings that everyone got back into it.

This does my head in. I’m 19, silence is my favourite song to date. I can’t believe how dead this crowd is. I felt nothing when he played yellow yet when I heard silence chills went up my spine. There is no soul in music these days. Everyone knows it too. Why do you think they take tabs to liven the thrill up a little.

When the beginning of the beat kicked in I also got chills. but I was disappointed AF because he had to change the song due to the dead crowd, before the biggest drop in history begun. 8:55 that girl looks brain dead.
