Got to respect Donnie! It's not easy to maintain such high Physical abilities at late 40s. Most action star and professional athletes are either out of shape or off their peak at this age.

Great video! It is almost perfect! It would be perfect if you have added more grappling movies(BJJ, Wrestling) moves scene from SPL, Flashpoint into your video. Donnie Yen is really a special martial artist because despite being in Asia, he is a MMA and UFC fan, and utilises alot of Grappling in his movies. If you can capture the essence of him doing armbars, rear naked chokes, triangles like those scenes in flashpoint, it would be a perfect video. BJJ is now the most effective martial art.

  • @driverv86

@itzAcutie the difference is that donnie yen is pretty much an MMA fighter. He said the he loves the UFC and called it the most real combat. He also said if he didn't have an injured shoulder he would have considered joining. I think he would have done well, he legitimately is a great fighter.

  • @Silenced_by_nazi_youtube

@LucaLongoTKD agreed, this guys music choice was great. it separated his video from all other donnie yen tribute videos because the other donnie yen tributes have the oddest music for a martial arts video. like seriously who the f* puts trance and dance music on a martial arts video, its kind of insulting.

Watch UFC 1 -3. Even Donnie Yen mentioned in the making of SPL that he feels that BJJ is the most effective modern martial art. Look up gracie challenge.
Donnie Yen has been trying very hard to implement BJJ and MMA moves into his movies, he has mentioned that he is a MMA fan and has great respect for UFC fighters. So i think it would be really good to put more of his MMA fighting style into the video. =)

if you're saying that, you seem to think bruce lee's movies are based in fact, while only fist of fury was based in fact and a bit of embelished legend everything else he wrote himself, yes bruce lee was an amazing fighter in real life, no doubt in that but donnie yen is an equally capable fighter, imitation is how we first learn, that includes you and learning how to speak then you develop your own style, which donnie yen has since the 90's

I like all the other screen fighters because at least they don't go on some tv show thinking they can imitate bruce lee and his moves and believe he is some real fighter, it's a joke. You ever wondered why Jackie chan or Jet or any other actor doesn't go on tv show and act like donnie does. Because they know are actors. And most of all they don't imitate bruce lee. I used to like donnie when I was younger, his old old movies were great. But now he is just funny to me.

he imitates him ONLY when playing a role bruce lee has played and yes tons of them now a days do who grew up watching bruce lee, not to mention musicians, rappers and MMA fighters so imitating one so influential is not so bad

I know Samo is not some great fighter, because he is also a screen fighter and he has fatness lol. But I have heard that Samo had fights in his school. And he and Jackie chan followed the same master, with Samo being the senior pupil. We all know how brilliant Jackie chan is, so that says something. What has Donnie done to show me anything. Apart from getting lucky and meeting a film director that gave him a shot at being a movie star.
