    been watchin some of your videos after watchin your Iron Trap interview with Matt... its taken 50 years for me to fall in love with traditional Ford hot rods , my growing up it was as they came from the factory w/ small block chevys lol

      Better late than never! Truth be told. I love early small blocks. Great engines. Thanks for watching!

      They may have still been in the slammer, acclimating to the shop? I can't remember if I had them yet. May have been just after you left.

    Keep up the good work!
    There is an essence about old iron, the bangers, flatheads etc have a feel all their own. Quirky and fun, most fun you can have at the 100 hp area. I'm one of the few still making mechanical brakes work great and people are always stunned...
    An old timer once told me this that I still follow to this day. "Its more fun to try to go fast in a slow car than to go slow in a fast car"

    • @Seattle_Speed_Shop
      @Seattle_Speed_Shop  Год назад +1

      I've been in several arguments about mechanical brakes as I also find them to function well, if adjusted correctly. After many miles on both, I will say that the juice brakes are easier to service and maintain, but in no way are mechanical brakes as bad as guys make them out to be. Throw some cast iron drums on, and the brake fade stops, I'm not sure what more you could ask for! Anyways...thanks for watching!

    Not a good video? Stop that right now! This is my new favorite channel.
    I love the stance that you're taking on early hot rods. I have had my late grandfather's 1930 model A for about a year now, and your dual updraft video blew my mind.
    I love the idea of a car that looks stock with the hood down, and basically sounds stock. But add some more compression, and some more air? No more up hill at 15mph! I would imagine it's like playing imaginary "cops and robbers" as an adult.
    Keep up the great work! Every video has been awesome!
    P.S. if you ever come across another dual updraft manifold, uh, I want that real bad!

      I just want every video to be the best one yet! I am definitely my own worst critic! That's really cool you have your grandpa's model A! I come across dual intakes occasionally, I'll put ya on the list for one! Thanks for watching!

    Totally Agree! Traditional Rods are the best. I grew up in the woods of the eastside of the W.A. Being an 1982 baby myself. I run a 31 A coupe with an early oldsmobile and am collecting parts for a 32 Ford pickup.

    I have a 1936 Plymouth coupe I’m building. Straight six, triple single intake, manual transmission. Made of steel. It’s precious to me as it’s a tribute to my grandfather and the racecar he built. At car shows it’s a solid attention getter

    I have to agree, the old stuff is a lot of fun. I've done bangers, I've done flatheads all great fun. I don't need the candy paint. Now, I can always find something I like on other cars. To each his own.

    the problem with traditional hot rods is cost of bodys--people are greedy.

    • @Seattle_Speed_Shop
      @Seattle_Speed_Shop  Год назад

      I would have to respectfully disagree with this. My "Bell Auto Parts Special" is currently sitting at about $4k for everything including the OHV engine. It was originally $5.5k but I have since sold off parts I won't be using.
      My "Susie" roadster is currently about $1k all in. Again...sold parts I wasn't going to be using.
      My truck is about $12k all in. And admittedly that is a lot of money, but not crazy for a traditional hot rod. I spent good money on the truck to begin with. 7k + 5k in "upgrades".
      The trick is, to not be in a hurry. When you're paying, I need it now prices, instead of hunting for deals. The price adds up quick!

      glad its going good for you-but here in the midwest bodies and i mean junk rusted bodys go as high as $3000- hard to have a project on a budget.the rest i can build.--like your site thanks.@@Seattle_Speed_Shop
