Lots of ppl spending over $85k on a car, don't worry about cost for maintenance, depreciation and have probably done their research before dropping that much for a car, except the port install you mentioned. But good advice anyhow.
100% Correct. A local mechanic does not want the liability exposure. You got some crazy car owners out there that will blame a tech for "whatever" after having any kind of work done. While my 2022 6MT G80 is under warranty it's 100% dealer serviced. (You tore the leather seat when you sat in the car the day I brought it in for an oil change.) My buddy is a tech. I've heard it all!
I went with the best of both. Wanted a coupe and hips! Fully loaded with carbon package G87 with port installed MP HAS. Love it. I did drop 30K cash though to get that payment to 1100$ 81K msrp
Just speculating but your exhaust shop probably didn't want to cut your exhaust because you were probably replacing the mid-pipes which have secondary cats. Removing the cats is against federal (and often times state) regulations which a lot of reputable shops wont do. NM plate so if your in ABQ, Bernallio County is unfortunately emissions compliant. The only real "special" tools this car needs is e-torx which you can buy a decent set of for like $50, everything else is pretty standard..
My BMW dealer installed my exhaust, kept warranty and it's nice to have BMW invoice for exhaust installation if I have any issues down the road. Worth extra $200 to have BMW install my exhaust, imo.
This is true! My dealer was going to install for me but wanted $600 my local shop did it for $170. But that peace of mind is worth its weight in gold. These cars can be expensive if something were to happen to an installed part. Will use your advice in the future
What is M1 and M2 on the steering wheel of these cars is it some kind of individual set up like Mercedes have so you can flick between the two for more sportier individual set up? I’m from UK and have had Mercedes before but not a BMW so I’m learning about their set up at the moment but have one of these M4 on my shortlist for my next car.
Yup pretty much! M1 and M2 are fully customized settings that you configure that way you can hit them and not have to individually adjust suspension, throttle response, exhaust valve opening every time!
You don’t want any regular maintenance shop working on your M especially! BMW will flag your VIN if the schedule recommended service is not followed. So it’s all fun & games to go change your oil with the guy down the street but if something happens & stuff needs to be replaced you can kiss that warranty good by.
Don't buy port installed options, gets worked into your monthly payment and you're paying interest. Buy after purchase and look for deals or just avoid paying interest and raising monthly payment.

You’re right! I did all this research and only later found out about the port installed options haha 😂

Nice! Picked up a used 24 M4 for 15k off and full PPF on top and only 700 miles. Love the car!
Congrats 🎊🎈 hope you enjoy the car brotha!
How much did you pay? I see them going for $75-$80k used with 5-10k miles, which I think is high.
@anthonyworld1 89K but car is an M4 Competition XDrive with almost every possible option. MSRP was $106,500.
The music in the background is a annoying.
Have you considered spacers? 10mm would help that front end. The standard go to for g80s is 12 / 15mm
Yup gonna get some soon bro! Been looking into them! Thanks for the advice! The fitment is awful rn
