“Smiling Joel” - “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” 2 Tim 4:3
There is NO SUCH thing as the Theology of Suffering. There is only the teaching or theology of CONTENDING. Contending for the faith is at the core of the gospel to preserve God’s kingdom. Jesus said “those who make YOU suffer no neither the father nor the son”:
Not sure what gospel you’re contending for, but there is indeed the theology of suffering. Jesus tells us we will suffer for His name sake. And here are just a few more verses on Christians suffering. Romans 5:3-5 English Standard Version 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. And Peter 5:10 English Standard Version 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. And John 16:33 English Standard Version 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
@@christopherross6516 You share in his suffering by contending; NOT making people suffer which is what the church is doing thinking it will birth humility, patience, etc. Lack of sound doctrine ...
@@joelbumba2006I do not disagree but what church “makes” people suffer and to what extent? People who have a strong foundation in scripture will know the wolves in sheep’s clothing, we’ll know them by their fruit. Giving my own testimony, suffering goes hand in hand with contending and enduring, doing all things through Christ whom strengthens me, for I had to suffer to humble myself. Im literally fasting for at least 36 hours. I’ve never heard of a church making people suffer, doctrinally speaking. But it’s a ideal to humble one’s self especially a sinner such as myself
? But nowhere did Voddie said anything about people should make themself suffer. You come off being legalistic and you completely disregard @christopherross6516 of what he said with verses on it. Even Jesus stated himself about he needs to suffer. You just blurt stuff out with no evidence or reason.
@@HighSummonerBWM No where did I say people should make themselves suffer. The church is abusing people yet talking about the theology of suffering. Don’t you find it hypocritical????

Where there is division,,,,there is an ego on fire
Hopefully you aren’t applying that here.

Can you point me the the whole sermon? Thanks!
Look in the description
These sermons would be just as good without the background music just annoying
Absolutely right..@@taceanprehay646
Please remove the music. From 1:38 until about the 2:02 mark it sounds like I'm at a railroad crossing waiting for the train to clear. Thanks.
