Great question, Ed! Yes, you should get approval to private label first. With that being said, many of them will state whether or not you can private label their products when you sign the original agreement with them. If you're thinking about doing this with any suppliers you already work with, I'd recommend checking the agreements first because you may already be good to go.

What I mean is this...if I am a manufacturer and make my own products....can I send a certain amount to a drop shipper and drop ship my own products from them? I ask because I don't have the time to mail out single orders or space in my home. But I can manufacture my product and send large quantities to a drop shipper and still do the whole website dropship thing. Is that possible? I hope I made this question clear
Great question, Jennifer! If I was you I would reach out to eCommerce stores to see if they had any interest in selling for my brand on the drop ship model. If the demand was there, I would work with a fulfillment center that could stock my products and ship them on behalf of my customers (aka the retailers who would be selling your products). This is a great idea and many manufacturers do this.
