I’m from Indonesia and I remember when I first stayed over in Poulsbo, we went to eat breakfast in some sort of diner. The portions of each dish was 3 or 4 times the size of Indonesian restaurant dishes. We ended up bringing some leftovers home but, I was still able to eat my whole dish because that’s how I’ve always been. 😆

As an American who was basically stuck in a trailer somewhere in rural Japan debugging something for a week and a half, living off of seven eleven and Japanese fast food, I actually really appreciate Japanese portioning.
In Japan, a fast food meal is ~$5 in reasonable portions, but it tastes good. In America, it's $10 for a burrito that's the size of a baby or $5 for a reasonable sized meal that taste like cardboard....
