  • Sky News host Steve Price criticised Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s comments on nuclear energy during an interview on Sky News Australia.
“Our Prime Minister, who turned up on Sky this morning … to waffle on about how this was reckless, uncosted and dangerous," he said.
“Anthony Albanese was having none of it, sticking to his talking points and trying to make it about Peter Dutton, not about energy at all.”

So according to Albo, we should never have developed a car industry, an IT industry, a mining industry, a banking sector, a construction industry. Because at some point in time in the past, we never had one. So according to Albo's mentality, we are stuck like Peter Pan in the past, never able to grow up. He's assuming that because he's the PM, that he's the smartest person around. Far from it. We have engineers studying degrees in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, chemical, civil engineering as well as physics. A nuclear engineering degree would be a combination of physics and aspects of other engineering disciplines. It wouldn't be hard to set up, borrowing from the world renowned unis like MIT and Stanford curriculum for example. In the same way we have set up new degrees such as petroleum and mining engineering, a nuclear engineering degree would be possible. Technological expertise would be shared in the same way that it is in the defence sector.
The problem is we have a PM who believes that no one can ever be as smart as he is. Well, news flash. A lot of us already are.

Net Zero is prohibitively costly, impractical and totally unnecessary.
Wind has a low energy density and is wind power is centuries out of date. Wind farms only exist due to massive taxpayer funded subsidies. They make no economic sense. They are a colossal waste of taxpayers money and resources (including coal, oil and copper).
Solar panels are only economical as a supplement in sunny areas between the 35th parallels. Even in favourable areas there is a major mismatch between peak supply and peak demand. Inclement weather can render them useless for prolonged periods.
We need to withdraw from the Paris Accord and use the most economical energy resources available. Nuclear power is safe and reliable and should be legal in this country.

Mr Dutton needs to repair the damage done by this economic vandalism. He needs to make it official LNP policy to withdraw Australia from the Paris Accord and use the most economical energy resources available.
Nuclear power plants should be legal in Australia, however, if coal fired power plants are cheaper, then we should build them like the Chinese, Indians and Indonesians.

I as many will, only consider voting for the party that doesn't just talk about Nuclear but has a clear plan for its establishment in Australia. I want to see solar and wind succeed but as an investor in these companies will never invest in green energy again after losing substantial amounts because too many things go wrong. Apart from the obvious no wind and no sun, solar has a habit of catching fire and also doesn't like hail and guess what we have recently had some big hail storms. When you have to constantly renew the renewables how cheap will that be compared to a build and forget NUCLEAR power station. Come on labour get with the 21st century or stop pretending you are visionaries.

Dutton reckons its 28 000 km of transmission lines. That is a LIE! Look up AEMO and they say that Australia needs 10 000 km of transmission lines by 2050 for a cost of about 20 billion dollars. Also dutton's nuclear power stations will be built on old coal fired power station sites that were built up to 50 years ago. I reckon they might have to spend a bit to upgrade the transmission lines coming from these sites.
If you have any information about where the 28 000km or 26 000 km of transmission lines comes from please let me know as I would be most interested in reading about it. And please don't quote Sky News.

If you look up true facts AEMO has stated that 10 000 km of transmission lines are required to be built by 2050 at a cost of about $20 billion. Some of this has already been built. How much will it cost to upgrade the transmission lines from the 50 year old coal fired power stations Dutton wants to turn nuclear?

Nuclear power is inescapable since it is the only feasible alternative for meeting Australia's energy needs if coal-fired power stations are to be replaced. Renewables have already cost around a trillion dollars and are unreliable, making them unsuitable for large enterprises that require consistent baseload electricity. Unless there is a two-tier system in which large corporations and wealthy individuals receive uninterrupted power because they can afford the rising prices, while you continue to experience frequent blackouts, constantly repairing your Chinese-made solar panels, and waiting for the wind to blow to power your house on a part-time basis.
