Very cool place. I think the architects of the past could teach people a thing or two about construction in the present. Really nice information you gave to. Have a great week and great work on this video.
Really appreciate Lance, thank you! The ancestral puebloans were amazing architects and builders. And how relentless they must have been to live in the desert so long, it fascinates me.
look how big he has gotten. We are going to NM ourselves very soon. But we will not be in NW New Mexico. I thought a Kiva was a fireplaces. At least when I lived in Santa Fe that is what we called a Kiva.
He is growing really fast! Interesting how you use the word Kiva. It was a place to gather for pueblo people so a fireplace would be sensible evolution of the work locally. Thank you and sorry for the late answer!
Awesome National Monument! If we swing back through NM we will have to check that out! If only we could just quit our jobs and explore fulltime lol. I will continue dreaming. Have an awesome week guys and hope you had a great holiday weekend! - Shane
I hope you get to visit New Mexico, we totally loved it and look forward to exploring more there. I know working full time while traveling is not easy - still you are living many people's dream! Have a great one to guys!
It was so beautifully done. Schools come visit and sometimes get a glimpse at the rituals with ceremonies being recreated by Native Americans. I wish we could have seen one. The great thing about this place was that it was small so we took our time to read about the history and their lifestyle. Little had a blast running around - it was perfect for him! Thank you so much Heather 😊
Still need to hit this one. Thanks for the fine preview! When we were in NM last summer, we didn't have time to hit the few very northern parks. Nice video!
You explored a lot when you visited, there are many National Monuments in New Mexico! A short and sweet one, packed with great history. Thank you so much Randy!
Going in the Kiva felt like being in a historical movie, it was really cool. You are right, not many people know about it - we didn't until someone recommended us to visit it. Thank you very much my friend!
It really is amazing! Out of all the places with ancestral puebloan history, this place was the one where I could really picture how their everyday life looked like. Thank so much for stopping by!
It blew our mind Alan! This civilization's engineering skills were amazing and there is still so much we don't understand from their lives. The three of us loved it there. Merry Christmas to you too Alan!
This is a great National Monument. Really awesome that they have a reconstructed kiva. So interesting! Good tour Evan and Alexandra! Thanks for bringing us along!
This National Monument is such a gem! And we had it almost for ourselves. Little Man got a lot of energy out that day on the trail 😊 Thank you so much Lisa and Rick Hugs back at you!
What a great National Monument to visit! What a nice look with a little bit of snow around. I love to visit the ancient ruins of the early peoples. 👍👍😎 ~Maverick
We love them too, we always learn more about their life back then, which is fascinating. There is still so much to know on this civilization. Thank you so much Mav 😊
Absolutely incredible! The architecture, design and significance all tie into the lifestyle of the Aztecs! Awesome tour! Can you imagine building a building today based on the solstice? 😀🍅
No I really can't imagine but this was very much in line with what civilization in central America also did before the colonization. They were much more atuned with nature than we are now for sure! Thanks so much Gil 😊
Hello Alexandra and Evan What a nice place to go and visit ! Nice video and well explained! We also saw some Pueblo ruins when we were at Mesa Verde National Park last year . It’s really nice to walk into those ruins . There is so much to see in the states ...🙃 Bonne semaine à vous trois ! 😉 Hélène et Serge 💑 👍😉🎥🏔
Hi Hélène and Serge! The ancestral puebloans were spread over the four corners. Mesa Verde are the most famous ruins but there are many more of them, of different shapes and sizes. We love history so we really had a great time there. Did you visit New Mexico during your road trip? Yes, so much to see in the States 😉 Merci beaucoup les amis!
Thanks for sharing.. Hope you guys are having a good week.. Watching and Supporting with Full View Like 32.. Question.. How is the beginning of your video done with the World coming down to your location?
Yeah you guys went a little different with the type of music you used in this video. It sounds more like something I would use lol. I love visiting old ruins like this. Definitely was a good place to get educated on the history and explore. Good job Alex on being a live narrator.
Ah ah, you've inspired Evan 😊 Yes, it was great to explore this National Monument and understand a little more about human living there 900 years ago. Thank you for your comment and encouragements Eric, there is lots of room for improvement!
One of my favorite subjects, historical places 😄 What an impressive place! It was great to see traces of the Aztec lifestyles. I was impressed so much. Thanks for sharing, my friend ❤👌
Thank you so much my dear 🤗❤ I am so glad we decided to visit this place, it was so interesting and educating. Plus all this space was perfect for our son to run around! Take care
This is one place we thought about visiting in New Mexico when we hadn’t decided where we were going to camp. So cool that you guys got to go there! I would love to explore the ruins first hand! Looks like Little Man had a blast! And he got a Junior Ranger Badge! Way to go little buddy!🤗🤗🤗
Thanks so much Tony! It was super fun to explore and to learn more about the habit and lifestyle of the ancestral puebloans. The visitor center has a guidebook that explains all the ruins. Little Man thought it was the best place for hide-and-seek 😂 Big hugs to the crew 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Ha thought maybe you were going thru windows 😀I couldn't respond to your comment on the gorilla video,my tablet messes up sometimes. Thanks for watching.😀
Great question Steve! I believe it dates back from a couple centuries ago, before the US border is where it is today. It was thought back then that the ruins had been built by the Aztecs. It was small but packed with great info and history, we had a great time! Thanks so much!
The ruins are still in such good shape! The alignment of the walls with the solstices and the overall planning shows what a superior race this civilization was... Now we got to rely on AI for half the constructions and calculations :(
The walls are in amazing shape! The ancestral puebloans had a very impressive knowledge in math and science, we sure could use it today. Thanks so much and wishing you a great Sunday!
AZTEC RUINS YES WAS BUILT BY AZTECS ITS THAT REASON WE NAMED THAT WAY WE BETTER BECAUSE WE'LL BE HERE FOR FIFTY THOUSAND YEARS IN AMERICAN CONTINENT, I cannot say britain was not built by british because i'm not from that place .

Fascinating place to explore, I think these ancient civilisations could teach us a thing or two about how to build and live! 👍👍👍
So true Anthony, they were fine architects! Going there made our imagination run wild 😊 Thank you very much!

Your little boy must have thought those low doorways were built especially for him!
They were perfect for him! 👌😎 He had so much fun in there!
I guess the question is, if built by the Pueblo’s than why is it called Aztec Ruins? Great video, looks like a place I need to visit. 🤠

Why call it aztec?
Good question. According to the Aztec Ruins brochure, the site was thought to have been built by Aztecs when it was discovered in the mid 1800s.
