how sad, too bad, never mind
The tackle was AFTER the ball had been kicked. How can it be a penalty as the shot was already made. .
Regardless of the circumstances, the challenge warranted a free kick or penalty based on the rules. Why would you assume that where the ball was had anything to do with the challenge, be it a shot at goal or a pass?
@@boycie-1690
Please read Gary Linekar and Gary Nevilles comments. They both also feel it wasn't a penalty. But game over, England is in the final. Yay
The VAR overlooked the handball by Saka which put the ball in Kane’s direction, prior to the shot. Prior to the faul. So, no penalty, no goal.
Exactly lightly touched KANE after he already made his shot them lay on ground just about crying then low amd behold penalty awarded he stood up like nothing when a penalty was awarded and he TOOK penalty mmmmm ohhh by the way 2 minutes injury time ????? No other game mmmm usually 3 to 4 minutes what a joke reff needs to be struck off been paid off I reakon what a doggy unfair call by the English reff or thats how it seems

@@markdraycott3974 I'm not crying, England was the better team for 60-70 mins, and they deservedly won.
Just saying the the VAR should've looked at the chip data in the ball, and looked at the possibility of handball.
In my opinion England benefitted from the handball, so faul for the Netherlands.
@@MaartenAnna I didn’t say you were matey, I replied to the comment below yours about the ref being English.
@@markdraycott3974 By cheating!!
every person who knows football will acknowledge that this wasn't a penalty at all. at 90 minutes it should've been 1-1 with the Ollie Watkins goal.
Holland got robbed for sure.
Kane rolling round as if his foot was broken then jumps up to take the.penalty that was not a penalty if a team has to cheat to win a game it shows how bad they really are that's why I hope Spain beats them 3-1 I don't like cheaters😢
"The cheats that they are ..." !! And your wish came true !!🤣
Saka also handled the ball just before kane fell to the ground. How did the officials miss it
They also missed saka being pulled down by the last man. Swings and roundabouts.
They missed the handball... conveniently!!
I hope that spain win, because they are the best team.
Literally I am from England and I do support the English national team, but I've got to be honest it was never a penalty

Never a penalty in a million years, but var we will take it 👍😂🇬🇧
Studs were out, and I believe this is why it was awarded. Anytime during the Championship, any studs being used have been pointed as fouls.
Not a penalty. Question mark remains why UEFA allowed this referee to officiate at this game with his previous history of match fixing and was banned for 6 months. There are plenty of referees in Europe who should have been given this high profile match without behaviour baggage. Most teams with pride would have been embarrassed winning in such circumstances. England cannot say they won fairly. They won the game technically through bad decision making of referee.
Absolutely not a penalty. Both players moved their foot towards the ball and then it can happen that they toych. Just like 2 players want to do a header and the heads hit each other. No foul, just bad luck. Besides 2 seconds earlier there was a handball by Saka. So free kick to The Netherlands.
That was not a penalty by a long shot. But England was better anyway.
Over the years, England has had many bad decisions given against them, payback is a bitch about time, come on England 🏴 🏴 🏴
That’s not how it works
That's how I work
You’re are so right ! Lampard’s goal 🤔 eventually things even up, and England have had to wait a long time, for the tables to turn just a bit in their favour … 🏴

Yep Sunday .... Spain-England .......4-0 😂😂😂
If you lead with your studs you can create massive injuries
That was the reason. Nothing to do with the ball
Dumfries went in high with studs up. That is always a foul- even if he had kicked the ball, which he didn't. You just can't go in to a challenge with studs up anywhere on the pitch. The fact Kane actually caught Dumfries with the follow through of his shot is irrelevant- if you have a shot and then are tripped its also a foul. Maybe a soft one to give but you see these given as fouls outside the area many times, sometimes with a red card. Studs up is asking for trouble.
I'd argue the same. Absolutely a foul anywhere on the field. As for Neville he also, rather strangely, argued a foul anywhere except the penalty area where more leeway should be given.
did you also see the hand of god .....ehhh Saka .... 3 seconds before?
just a guess...... noooooo, of course not 😂😂😂

If current and retired players of both sides, as well as the coaches all say it isn't a penalty, who are we to argue?
I'm English but that's never a penalty. (unless you're a cheating referee).
Pickford never saved that Dumfries header, it hit the bar.
That should never have been a penalty in such a high stakes game.
What in the world the ref was thinking ....babies playing in a field, common man this is a physical sport and the defender was only trying to block the shot.
Really shameful and disgraceful.
So it could be a penalty in the 1st game of the group stage but not in a semi final? Is that even a thing? A foul is a foul no matter where on the pitch and no matter the relevance of the game. Duuuuuh!
@@a.k.london9780 Saka's hand ball in the lead up should have negated this incident. Should have been handball and free kick to Netherlands.
Maradona handball ring any bells we deserve some fortunate decisions
There was a handball of Saka just before Dumfries tried to Block the ball. VAR did not check the handball.
It wasn’t a penalty. Even if one is touched by a feather in the penalty area VAR will come after you
Are the English here all oblivious to Saka's handball in the lead up to this incident? It should never have been a penalty.
Its a pen but a soft/hard one if that makes any sense 😂
Probably explains why a card wasn't issued as well.
@@peterbassey9668If that challenge is made anywhere else on the field, it’s a direct free kick AND a booking….that will happen hundreds of times this season. The Dutch player was late…no doubt a definite penalty…LAW 12.
The reason is simple, he put his studs out to defend where Kane hit them with the top of his foot. I have zero love for Kane.
In my day (1970s, 80s) the tackle would have been seen as going for the ball - no penalty - and that was my instant real-time reaction. But today, these kinds of tackles are penalized frequently outside the box so why not inside it? This tackle was seen as too aggressive, high boot and studs showing - a penalty. This happens all the time now - there's no scandal - these controversies work both ways for any side over time. Time to move on.
I remember playing loads of football (70s+80s) your right it was much tougher than the bunch of Fannie's of today. but the difference was we tackled properly, hard but without showing too much studs.difference now is a lot of the tackles are like Kung Fu kicks, therefore deemed quite rightly as dangerous play
Even in your time hands was not allowed. What happens after that doesn't matter. Free kick for NL.
@@mgc7199 so what your trying to say is you've never had descitions that have been wrong but gone your way, don't think so cup cake. so just suck it up and move on you baby

Absolutely!!! 😊👍👍100% Correct
One top team they played and the ref have to help them to reach the final just like in 2020 Euros against Denmark when Sterling dive to get a penalty ….so they still do shit..
Saka clearly assisted Kane by hand. No penalty should have been given.
@@MCK620 What are you dribbling on about? Either you're a sour Scot or a sad Dutchman. It was a clear cut penalty and perfect payback against Koeman and the Netherlands for the WC Qualifier in 1993 in Rotterdam. David Platt says "Hey"! 🤣🤣👍👍 RIP Graham Taylor - wish you could have seen all this. Haha
The player kicked Kane studs up. That's it.
no foul no penalty
Why wasn’t it a foul?
Every day of the week in the premier league; la liga; serie a, that is given as a foul and usually a booking. Not sure why it's not a foul just because it's in an international and in the penalty box.
I'm no expert...but my feeling is that the defender went in with studs exposed and that is usually penalized anywhere on the pitch
That was a mischievously and dangerously attack. The referee you issued a red card as well. The referee made the excellent decision 👏 Credit should go to the referee 👏
The dutch tried to rough house the England team ,heading Bellingham, kicking john stones , raising studs to stop the kicker , resorting to cheating ,has always been part of the Dutch credo, sending on a defender to break paul Gascoigne face open ,what goes around comes around , Clear penalty defender could have blocked ball with body but elected to stick his studs in, remember ricard and rudy voller 🤔🙊🙈🙉
After penalty Holland had penalty time to score another goal if not to win the match but they couldn't cause England played so well not to allow Holland play their game, and i still believe these young talented players need world class coach ,no disrespect to Southgate.and I also believe this team is capable of beating Spain
I can a agree with the Saka handball and the no-call against Germany. But for the people who say it is not a foul, how is it ok to challenge an opposing player with your studs up? Kane did get the shot off and the contact was on the follow through, but is it ever legal to challenge an opposing player leading the challenge with the studs up? Maybe if you only contact the ball and there is no contact with the other player. Please tell me when it is legal to challenge another player with with the studs of your boots raised and the initial point of contact with the opposing player is the bottom of your boot.
It was definitely not a foul and I'm sure we all know that, the problem was the VAR officials and the referee to blame. But I have to say we have had our share of bad decisions in the past but I think we were the better team on the night but not a great team overall the other matches played.
Kane lucky still got both feet red card all day long
England once scored a goal against Germany it bounced a yard behind the line but was disallowed and totally destroyed our teams efforts and there was no foul I am sorry for the Netherlands but that's how it goes nothing is perfect. But he did catch him with studs showing.
Bad calls have gone against England since I can remember a gentleman posted a video with most of those bad calls against England that sent England home in most cases It was taken down 🤔in the 1986 World Cup against Argentina the ball was punched inside the goal missed by the referee and was counted against England!!! In the 2014 World Cup England scored an equalizer against Germany the goal was disallowed and the ball clearly bounced inside the goal it was obvious !!! It's time the calls went our way for a change! Go England 🙏⚽🏆

Kane rolling around got the attention of VAR. How would VAR have looked at it had Dumfries rolled around the same way Kane did? Kane said right after the game there was contact and his leg was hanging off....yet miraculously got to his feet to stick the penalty away. Its gamesmanship on Kanes part and not the first time he's done it
No one else uses gamesmanship then ???
I thought it was a foul. Gary Neville asks the question "What is a defender supposed to do?". Play the ball Gary. It's simple.
He thought that a lot during his career 😂
Or don't go late with the challenge. Gary and Jamie are mental seriously
Gary Neville is right. They both went for the Ball and Dumfries was a millisecond too late. It was a cheap Pen, but that's part of the game too...
The flat of his Boot constituted a foul. Studs are a no no. It was a penalty.
What about the fact that Saka handled the ball in the lead up to the penalty incident? It should not have been a penalty.
football isn't fair, remember the hand of god, shit happens.
For me, you have to ask yourself if that incident happened in the middle of the pitch would it have been given as a foul? I believe it would have been, therefore it was a penalty in my view.
That was I was thinking too..outside the box…red will give that as foul…only surprised me is the yellow card hasn’t been shown. Any other players taking that shot and getting a foul like that will be rolling like a cart wheel😅
I agree,if he had actually played the full clip from Neville his argument was defenders should be given a bit of leeway in the box,no a foul is a foul wherever you are on the pitch, they already changed it to protect the keeper the rules are the rules for a reason, personally I think the ref gave it for being late takle.
Exactly….ive been saying this on here since it happened…people don’t know the rules about endangering another player….including those muppets Neville & Carragher.
@@themartianpariah6985
It didn't happen anywhere else on the pitch. That's where it happened; that's it. Both Gary Linekar and Gary Neville don't feel it was a penalty. Please read their expert comments. That said, it's over.....England is in the final Yay.
And the winner is…………the VAR
Would any other country's team be wringing their hands over being given a dubious penalty? No. So why should England?
Most of those pundits now admit that there was a case for a penalty. Pundits are not always right. You cannot try to block the ball with the flat of you foot with a raised and straight leg . its dangerous. Kane could have broken his foot or ankle. When you do that only one player will get hurt . As many have said if that was anywhere else on the pitch it would be a foul. By the way, What scandal?
There is no scandal, it's purely manufactured by clueless pundits. It was a clear penalty going by the rules, I think many pundits don't even understand the rules and think penalties are only given for preventing goal opportunities. No it's for any foul in the box, and this was a clear foul.
It's a scandal because Sakas handball 1 sec before Kane shoots was not taken into account. It was a free kick for the Dutch.
@@intenzityd3181they barely touched. And Kane kicked Dumfries more than the other way around. And let’s not forget about the handsball
Agree with you, but feet meets feet, so was not dangerous that Kane would have broken his leg.
How many times has England been on the recieving end of bad decisions, by the rules it's a foul like it or not ?
My final decision having looked at all the speculation. It might have been a penalty or it might not have been a penalty, I am not going to change my mind on that.
IT WAS HANDS OF SAKA. Whatever every englishman sais here it was hands of Saka so this should not even be a discussion.
I was even surprised he was not given a red card for the foul.
You know the rules of football and most people don’t . That was a red card and no question about it . Lucky enough he didn’t catch Kane’s foot between the foot and the leg other wise this would have been kanes last match ever
you mean the english hands in the 16?
That penalty was wrong, but lets face it, they were the far better team, so we had no business in this final. I wish the English team luck, they will need it against Spain. They are by far the best team in this tournament.
studs up - dangerous play.....penalty
If a player shows his studs to another player anywhere on the pitch it's a fowl, so it's no different in the penalty box is it .
There was a handball by Saka!!! Forget the foul Saka has controlled the ball with his hand.
With both hands ... a shamefull decision. Southgate is a lucky guy, but Spain ... I guess will end the lucky series of Mr. Southgate !
It is a late challenge. Definitely a nasty foul and a penalty
Bs he kicked it before he even got touched
It was never a penalty, the VAR referees decided to show the video that makes it look like one.
Personal opinions do not change anything. The penalty was awarded by the referee after initially awarding a goalkick, but was encouraged by VAR to look at his decision once again. Based on the rules of the game at this moment, he decided to award a penalty. If VAR is to be utilised by those who determine the direction that the game takes, then these circumstances have to be accepted until there's a better direction to go.
Yeah it was the correct decision to award a penalty, as everyone else has said already, it's illegal to make a challange showing a full set of studs in ANY situation. Very dangerous play by the Netherlands guy and Kane was lucky not to get seriously injured.
The referee’s initial decision was correct, no penalty. Kane had already launched his shot before his boot made contact with Dumfries’ boot. But the VAR overplayed his hand by overriding the referee’s initially correct decision. That was a procedural mistake by the VAR. Having said that, England were the better team and deserved the win. Just not with that penalty.
How ironic is it that a Real Madrid Fan comes up talking about any dodgy decision when Real are probably the team with most dodgy decisions in their favour. And yes, that is a penalty 100%. Kane gets to the ball 1st and takes the shot. Denzel comes late with studs in Kane's direction. Anywhere on the pitch its a foul. So the same applies in the box!
England have had the luck all tournament, that is never a pen, at the time all the commentators said no pen. The decision was truly shocking. And what a lucky draw. Spain have had a far more impressive run to the final. They are without doubt the best team in the competition, by far they've played the better football and it would be a shame if they lost to a side who've been mediocre past fortnight. Of course the game and results don't go that way.
All in the past. Sunday we will know the Winner
Most of the top teams have been well below their best for this tournament. Fact.
England were definitely the better team against Holland. Fact.
May the best team on on the day win the final.
The NETHERLANDS was letting England play their game when it was 1-0. to counter for the 2-0. The free pk destroyed the match.
I expect Spain to play England off the pitch ?
Clumsy foul.
But an honest challenge.
Studs up tackles are considered dangerous, so foul.
But I did feel sorry for the Dutch, as it seemed harsh.
It's not a penalty but the hand of Saka before
@josipmarzic803 I've watched that Saka incident several times and I don't think he touched it, he seems to be trying to avoid a spinning ball.
@@Paul-eb4jp it touches his right hand, you can see his hand going up. Also his left arm/hand is questionable touching the ball. Through his actions the ball directly goes to Kane. A Swedish FIFA and UEFA ref said 2 handballs, no penalty. Also, NL should have had a corner, it was very clear a corner and the ref took that opportunity away. Eng keeper shoots the ball and results in Watkins scoring. There were other problematic decisions in favor of England. All in all there are structural problems how UEFA is using VAR and it has become to dominate matches.

@gerritdeheij Get over it you loser, we lost tonight to a better side, Holland were garbage.
Ime English and not going to turn down penalty but its no way a pen and a sad day for football. Defenders will now have to restrain too much in pen box.
Not only a penalty but a send off
Literally everyone in england got up to use the bathroom or go to the bar during those checks, that's never a penalty
That incident was a 50/50 scenario whatever the referee decides is correct
And the ref initially decided it wasn't a pen. Only after the VAR butted in, who apparently completely missed Saka's double hands, even though they are obliged to look at the run up to the incident, did the ref change his mind. So dodgy.
Not a penalty!!! No discussion on that!!! Disgraceful!!!
I was greatly surprised that the ref even had to go to the VAR screen in the first place. Merely looking at that tackle there was not even a trickle of what resembles anything that can lead to a penalty especially considering the status of the match in question and how early in the match it was. Harry Kane who claimed or pretended to have been so gruesomely roughed by Dumfries immediately got up when he sensed that his theatrical antics were about to yield that devilish result he craved for. He eventually even ended up being the penalty taker! What a deliberately amateurish officiating and yet not less deadly debilitating. It's a shame!
England were lucky but it has happened to us in a LOT of tournament games, Maradonnas hand ball, good goals disallowed and once against Holland Koeman (the Dutch manager) received 2 yellow cards but was not sent off and 5 minutes later won the match with a free kick and he was famous for being brilliant at free kicks.
England dont given the goal Germany vs England the goal of Lampard is football 😂😂😂😂
I remember this incident..Lampard shot should be a goal. I hope England win this time.. because Saka and Declan are in the team..
@@xeedsenterprise505Been others too.. 1993 v Holland where Koeman should have been sent off minutes before scoring the decisive winner, not to mention Maradona in '86. This was just a contentious / soft penalty
In all honesty - anywhere else on the pitch it would have been a free-kick.
I have a much bigger problem with the so many penalties given for supposed hand-balls under today's rules!
Look this is a Semi final match. Netherlands was winning and was letting England play their game to counter them for a 2-0. That penalty destroyed the whole game because it was a bad call. it gave the game momentum to England. That was not e penalty it was an attempt to block and Kane shot against Dumfries and made a scene. Even worse is that Saka's shot rebounded of his hand before Kane shoots. Terrible from the VAR to not see that.
Two faced people .. in the last finals England and Italy .. Saka was pulled by the neck and only a free kick was given
Just a pack of BITTER EUROPEANS, best ever tournament here's why.. Italy, France, Germany all out.. England have WON even if they loose!! 😅🤣

@@hcury1960 Yep so damn true, i remember it so well!!. Chiellini got a yellow that should have been red!. He knew Saka was away so he took the yellow, could have made a huge difference though.

if dumfries was blocking the ball, no penalty! He blocked kanes foot if you look.
We cant compare era without VAR to with VAR era..... Still That was not a penalty at all.... Poor referee
Yes We can.....Maradona's handball was caught on camera.....isn't VAR a camera?.....and the referee was very wrong then....
Forget what Gary Neville or Jamie Garragher says, forget that England didn't ask for a penalty....and yes,the Ref could have remained with His original decision....but the penalty was given because Dumfries did not attempt to play the ball.....plain and simple....if England had been in Netherlands' position, the penalty most definately would have been given......and everybody would be saying it's the right decision.....the ball touched Saka's hand? Those decisions goes against England as much as England benefit from them......it's part of the imperfection of the game....
Who will win on Sunday? I want England to win.....Spain is freescoring and have lots of talent.......it's right that They are favorites.....England are typically not high scorers and seem to be plodding at times......but this a final,a "one off" match.....that is the beauty of it.....anything can happen....
That's never a penalty in any game I've ever watched. Stop whining about England getting bad decisions. England's been saved by the ref on countless occasions.
In England there is great respect for the Spanish national team...we know they are dangerous and the team is full of great players. And most Brits love a summer holiday in Spain, maybe that's why we have a soft spot for them. I hope England win obviously and of course the Spanish want their team to win. I hope its truly a great game and that football wins.
I find it pretty funny all these old pros saying its not a foul. At the time they played it wouldn't of been just a foul but a sending off aswell. He's got his studs up at knee height and knows kane will follow through after his shot. Its dangerous play that could cause an injury and it has been seen that way since the 90s at least.
To be honest, England were the better team and deserved to win the match. If England had been outplayed by the Dutch and the penalty had allowed England to get to the final unfairly, I think a lot of English people would feel uncomfortable with that. But that is not the case. England got to the final because they played well.
England plays a dull type of game at the moment. Not "British" at all. Certainly not the best team in the tournament. Do we Grant the Brits to win: yes we do. Life is already difficult enough.
England scored one legitimate goal. Saka handled the ball to England's advantage so the VAR should have concluded no penalty, but they are incompetent. Good luck against Spain as they will spank Engeland.
First, there was hands made by , I believe, Bellingham before the ball even reached Kane. So it should have stopped at that point. But regardless, you can not call it a challenge from Dumfries. You see this the best from the camera angle behind Dumfries. He stretches his leg paralel to Kane to block the shot. So NOT in the direction of Kane. The fact that there is contact at all is due to Kane swinging the leg after the shot. Normal behaviour of course but no challenge means no foul means no penalty.
Just imagine a defender just standing on the edge of the box with his hands behind his back. No movement just blocking the shot. Then the attacker shoots and kicks the defender in the privates. While doing so he hurts his poor toes. Is this a foul and a penalty?😂
It was Saka who handled the ball innthe lead up to the penalty incident.
That was not a penalty. The pundits chaged their minds because they were most probably told to by whoever the network is who they work for.
Spain won't even win the coin toss its coming home 🎉
NETHERLANDS GOT TO THE SEMIFINAL BY JUST GOD KNOWS WHAT REASON. I WENT WITH NETHERLANDS BUT AFTER I SAW 20 MINUTES OF PLAY I WONDERED "HOW IN THE WORLD DID THIS PEOPLE GET HERE!!!!"
Same goes for England, France, subpar play all around.
Netherlands should have never made the knockout rounds. 3rd place qualification is a joke, they needed the ref to beat Turkey and were outplayed by England. I can't understand how their arrogant fans have the nerve to think they deserve to be in the final. At least win your group...
NO PENALTY, ENGLAND WE FORTUNATE
Leg was fully stretched
Studs were up
Hit zero ball
Inside the 16m
Yeah thats a penalty. Could've been a red card too tbh
Leg was not fully stretched. Studs were facing away from the player. Kane kicks Dumfries. And none of this matters cause hands Saka. The only people deserving of a red card are the refs.
@@mgc7199; that is EXACTLY the right comment. Studs up but sideways is never a foul and the leg was not stretched indeed. I have seen bad decisions made in previous tournaments (against or for many different teams), but this tournament has seen the worst refereeing ever (despite or thanks to the VAR).
With Saka shown to be handling the ball the Kane/Dumfries incident should have been irrelevant anyway
I’ve been critical of England, because if Southgate’s strategy of pissing around passing in their own half, the only other team to play this style was Scotland. The Netherlands game was better, but I don’t think that England can beat this Spain team, I hope I’m wrong, but with likes of Stones, who hasn’t been creative and looks bewildered, I think Spain will win.
Neville & Carragher just can't stand the notion this England team are going to their 2nd straight Euro final with a chance to win it all. Their huge ego just won't admit they're just not as good. That's what losers do. And well, as for Piers, everyone knows he's a 🤡. So who cares.
England had two goals awarded that should'nt have stood in their World Cup win in 1966. One that never crossed the line and one that was down to a handball from the shoplifter. So dry your eyes about the 'hand of God'.
SHAME ON HARRY KANE FOR HIS DUBIOUS ACT🤮🤬😡
Scotland foul was more of a case of a penalty than that one
It wasn’t a penalty in my opinion. But the English played very well the first half, the goal was eminent. On the other hand, the Dutch pushed the English back in the second half but the English scored a beautiful goal in the final minute. Both teams deserved to win in my opinion, but the Dutch didn’t manage to score a goal in the second half, the English did, just were a little more lucky. The match was a beauty, I really enjoyed it. I think the Spanish team is the better team and will win the final.
After watching Kane again? No penalty mate
