The way I understand it, the blue moon is the 3rd full moon within a season that will have 4 full moons in it. But I understand the confusion about even just that... but with the current definition (2nd full moon in a single month) February will never have blue moon
Nowan Inparticular It might be close, but might it be possible on a leap year Feb. of 28 days? I am pretty sure it could look like it is if close to 00:01 Feb. 1, & 23:59 Feb 28. A few years ago, I think there was a 23:60 (leap second). Time is weird.
It takes roughly 29.5 days for the moon to go from any phase through all the phases & back to the original... So even on Leap Year, February is just under half a day too short for it to happen there... Good question though
A good explanation of the Blue Moon phenomena.
Interesting trivia as well as science. What's not to like?
It's cool that someone's job at NASA is to make these videos.
NASAさんがブルームーンについて解説してくれてる。
英語だから全部は理解しきれてないけど、
呼ばれるようになった経緯や、現象の原因など
簡潔的にまとまっていて、さすがNASAさんです。

If you measure the light from the moon, you will notice it produces a cold light.
