  • The Revox PR99 is in essence a slightly more sophisticated B77, which was popular as a budget editing workhorse yet could benefit from a few for studios and broadcasters suitable adjustments.
The most noticeable differences between the B77 and the PR99 are a digital counter on the mkII and III, transport extra's like loop playback, tape dump, two tension arms and most importantly balanced XLR in- and outputs.
The differences between the three PR99 makes are even more minor. The mkI lacks a digital counter and the loop and z-lock functions that go with it. The mkIII however, being the baby brother of the Revox C270 and Studer A807, is merely a mkII with a fancy Studer facelift.
