Neat little buzz saw. Like how you mounted it on s trailer. Things always look scary to run but actually pretty simple if its all working properly. Well done on the restore/modification.
You are working smart for sure, I see most people cut the wood and drop it on the ground. You take it right from the drying pile to the transport bin. Great saw too, Two belts are better than one. Cheers.
A great example of fine engineering by another home-shop mechanic !!! I like it...much better than chainsawing on the ground or having to pick everything up off the ground after being cut. Kudos to you sir. Being a person that likes most anything old, the engine is exquisite. None of those that I know if in my part of the Midwest.
Thanks! Those old machines are build to last longer than a lifetime. They don't make it like that nowadays. I'll try to post some more video's of this machine. I've also made a log splitter, I'll try to post a video of that one too.
brilliant. .I made a screw logsplitter with a petrol engine about the same height, saves so much back ache ..my sawbench is the same, but not home made but is driven by an old diesel Peugeot car
What diameter saw blade is that? How many hp is the motor? I have been wanting to build this exact machine. Its rare to see a buzz saw in the states being used anymore.
just found this, nice idea though and great for annoying the neighbours (just kidding). Have you ever had a log jam coz I bet it would cause one hell of a kickback 😬😬
Thanks! I haven't had a kickback with this saw. You can't compare this engine with a modern Honda GX. When sawing thicker (hard)wood, 10-15cm, the engine's rpm start to drop and when you push to hard and jams, the belts slip. Maybe this happens cause the belts are so long? Everything thicker than 15 cm I use the chainsaw and log splitter.

Works on small short logs.
Very cool! I need one of these!
Nice job what sort of horse power is that engine? Seems to have plenty of power
According the specs I've found it's a 206cc engine producing 4Hp.
omg
safety first

A very neat piece of kit.
Excellent!
What is that engine? The pushrod tubes are Kool looking!!!
It's an old French motor "Bernard W110" from around the 60's. It was commonly used on concrete mixers and water pumps.
cool old motor, but loud !

very smart
Up what size this cut?
The blade is 40cm in diameter. For everything larger than 15cm, I use the chainsaw.
