If you go into your house with hands covered in brown stain, you'll get even more questions than doing so covered in red stain.

Hi John, Nice to see the process at real time. I couldn't see the end result properly at the end of the video though. Just a personal opinion but I preferred the look when you had just the brown and orange on the guitar. I have no doubt I will be proven wrong with the finished guitar as it will be stunning. Take care John. Cheers, Huw. PS I have used gloves but not realised that I'd put a small hole in them. Yes, Red takes ages to wear off. LOL. Huw

Wooden-It-Be-Nice thanks Huw! It did look good with the orange and brown. Reminded me of a tiger. I did have a specific idea in mind for this build and I decided to stick with it wether it works or not. One of the joys of wood is I can always sand it back and go again if I change my mind later. Yes a hole in the glove is a nightmare, been there lol

There's some red stains around the door frame to my garage which look suspicious :) Now I can't wait to see what you do with that copper!

Lol thanks Chris. My first attempt with the copper wasn’t right but I think I nailed it on the second try. Picture and videos soon

    Hi John,
Great to see you do a more real time video.
I might have missed it in the video, but is there a specific reason you use a water based stain over a spirit based one?

Thanks Daniel. The water based stains will mix with each other and blend. As will the spirit based. But water and spirit don’t tend to mix with each other. Not so much anyway

Hi John, using the brown and orange in spirit form and black in water for sort of make a resist between colors?
Would it help to clear seal the edge (side) before staining the face or would that be the opposite issue?

Hi. Yes kind of. Yes it may but it would be really hard to seal right up to the edge without getting the sealer on the top. Much easier to colour and then sand the edge. Better still do a binding which is what I plan for the future, but not this build!
