A long time ago I did a deep dive into this "Florida Man" thing, and the reality is that Florida is no "weirder" than any other state. I know "weird" is subjective, but the reality is that Florida is more transparent with crime than any other state.. If I recall correctly they have a "crime/criminal transparency" law where criminals and their crimes are required to be reported in the local media .. Basically crimes need to be listed in the local paper, which is commonly referred to as a "police blotter" - so there is total transparency in Florida...
That's because it has nothing to do with florida and everything to do with men period. There's no shortage of perverts or stupid violent criminals in any city. I've been dealing with these sick freaks since I was a child. It's honestly disturbing how many men are interested in kids and have no qualms about following a child or worse. I think it's unfair to call these cases Florida unless it has something to do with stereotypical florida things, like the dude who put an alligator in the restaurant would be a good example of a Florida man video. Most of these are just run of the mill perverts/criminals you would find in every city.
The last time I was in Florida, a family had a bunch of young men with downs syndrome, shirtless, in summer, waving confederate flags next to the on ramp to a causeway in Destin, FL. It's an image that has forever stayed with me.
To be completely honest, I'd expect the same thing here in South Carolina - while Covid was starting to rear its ugly head, I pulled off 385 in my state South Carolina, and a similar group was holding up Trump signs, anti-gay signs, Covid isn't real signs, and Biden is the devil signs, on the bridge on the overpass of Haywood road in Greenville, SC. Members of that group clearly had a chromosomal issue and I felt sick knowing their lives were being blighted and limited by these hate-filled fuckwits. I wonder if they were the same group? It was like May-June 2020.
I've worked for most of the major theme parks in central Florida, and sad as it is to say, the only part that surprised me about the Ariel story is that they actually called the police :/ I've seen costumed characters be groped, and all our supervisors would do is give the guy a warning or MAYBE escort him from the park if he fought back 🙃
Same. My supervisors at WDW would probably have apologized profusely to the guy and given him free stuff for the inconvenience of being accused of a crime. However, they probably had the police come backstage and took care of it there. There's an outside entrance with a bus stop right next to Ariel's Grotto, so it's pretty accessible from outside the park. I used to work right next to there and got in through that entrance.

They’d have no interest in such a place because it’s legal. They don’t get the thrill of power from wrecking objects. Nor do they get the thrill from willing participants. He could have purchased the toys but that wouldn’t have given him the thrill of public indecency and defilement.
If you ever consider doing a part 2, you should talk about the Florida Man that called the police to make sure the meth he bought was real. I learned about this from a scrapped Florida Man video I was making and it was a wild ride. Also while looking into it he had a kidnapping charge prior to this.
I was so confused by the pole thief, in Michigan most of these poles are timber, so I was questioning what good the pole would do for scrap metal until I saw the image
Honestly same but Maine here. Also anything left in or on the road long enough (generally only a few hours too) is considered abandoned property. He should actually have been perfectly fine to sell IF he reported it as abandoned property first Even then getting arrested is nuts ridiculous
Looking up florida law im surprised his lawyers didnt get him off. Property placed or abandoned on the side of a road is deemed trash and valueless. Not only should he not have a charge, but even if they had a charge the grand theft charge should be reduced
I also was very confused until the picture came up, most poles in my state are wood with a metal shield at the base. Except the poles traffic lights are on but those are way too big to strap to a normal car lmao.

In all fairness, and I don’t live in Florida. The FOIA laws are less strict than other states. Meaning you ask, you immediately get info in Florida. Good for you. In the US especially, people tend to assume that all prisoners are there for horrendous crimes, but in reality the vast majority of prisoners in the US were arrested for drug-related crimes such as possession with intent to distribute, most without any violent component attached. A big reason there's so many Florida man stories, Is something called the "Sunshine law", Started in 1967. It basically makes county arrest records, very public to other states.

Amen! I really appreciate it too! Not all prisoners are bad people, most are actually very good people that either ended up in a s**t situation or grew up in a s**t situation. They lead the only life they’ve ever known and I hate how people judge about that. Plus I’m also bothered about how convicts serve their time and yet can barely make a life on the “good path” because everyone still judges them. In the US at least, once you do your time, you paid your debt to society. They are supposed to be able to live out their life and yet there are so very few places that will even offer a job to them. I lost my license and my job, to return to the line of work i was in was not happening due to the blemished record and my having to drive being themajority of the work i was involved in doing. Having to find work where i could carpool or use public transportation also put me to working jobs that paid less and having to depend on others to get to work put me in predicaments that would never have been necessary had i just chosen to not drive. I no longer drink unless Mtn Dew or Dr Pepper count. That said, I know first hand what can happen and the cost it brings when one gets popped.
I swear Utah also does this
That's because it has nothing to do with florida and everything to do with men period.
Yeah, I think it's called the Sunshine law
It's the sunshine act, as cruciatus said. If you knew what went on in Oregon, Florida would look like a state of law abiding geniuses.
@@mikesanders8621this is beyond true and I’ll swear by it everytime
Sounds like Florida to me

Even then getting arrested is nuts ridiculous

The car rescue story was a nice little addition. Prisoners that qualify for work detail are there for victimless, non-violent crime. At least in my state... I give them sodas and snacks anytime i see em near my house.
Good for you. In the US especially, people tend to assume that all prisoners are there for horrendous crimes, but in reality the vast majority of prisoners in the US were arrested for drug-related crimes such as possession with intent to distribute, most without any violent component attached. Combining that with the way that the labor of prisoners is exploited by this country (slavery is still legal in America as punishment for a crime!), you offering that small act of kindness means a lot

So no wonder they end up back in prison, they have no way to make money for suitable living and so they have to go back to crime 😑🙁.

I Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or whatever you may celebrate, and I wish you safety and great times if you plan to celebrate New Years. Remember, it's amateur night, 20 years ago, I was that amateur, charged and judged with a DUI. I learned that drinking and driving impaired even though i caused no accidents and was doing ok until I was caught, cost me a small fortune, and brought hardship upon myself that I could have totally avoided had i not started the engine.
Set up a designated driver, hire an Uber or Taxi, party in place, you'll wake up right where you passed out with only a hangover at worst. Dont risk lives or your livelyhood in an effort to have a good time. Even if you are sober, you are at a higher risk of being involved in a drunk driver involved accident on the roads on new years eve night from midnight to 3AM, than any other time of the year in the USA. Also, you have more risk of being pulled over or caught in a DUI checkpoint than any other time of the year as well.
