      My late father was a real mustard maven. One Christmas, we all pooled together and got him two dozen bottles of every really fancy mustard we could find. Mustards that make Grey Poupon look like the stuff you get out of a packet at McDonalds. it was the best Christmas ever.
      But I doubt even he would have wanted a shot of /that/ stuff.

      And they're planning on going out to get cocktails after the performance because it's the last show of the tour, all except that one who's going to get a martini because they _always_ have to be different and are just *super* obsessed with olives and they tell them constantly to just get some olives to eat alongside a drink but they say they prefer it in a martini to which they all stop, reconsider, and apologize and say, "You know what? You do you," and they all feel a bit closer as a ballet company afterwards.

    • @CheekandBluster
      @CheekandBluster 2 года назад +6

      In actual practice, "middle-aged" ballerinas would probably be, say, 22-25 years old. Once a ballerina reaches what we generally call middle age of a human lifespan, they've been retired from classical dance for a decade or so. Ballet is really a young person's game; it's just too demanding on your body to continue once you get the far side of thirty and the injuries become chronic. It's not unlike American football in that regard.

It is like a custard and it's served in a shot glass and eaten with a spoon. I usually have it after dinner with a cup of coffee. Claire, **I** like mustard, though NOT as a flavor in a drink. One of my favorite ways to have hot dogs is on a bun with French's or Heinz yellow mustard, diced onion and chili con carne (no beans, obviously). The mustard adds a nice tartness to the chili and onions. I also prefer to have yellow mustard, onion and fresh ground black pepper on cheeseburgers. The trouble is that most places tend to put the mustard on like it is gold, giving you about three drops.🙄 Sometimes, I do get cheeseburgers the normal Wendy's way with ketchup, mayonnaise, dill pickle slices, lettuce and tomato.
    I also like Coleman's Mustard with a pot roast.
    The spicy brown mustard is good on hot pastrami sandwiches, using rye bread, lettuce, tomato and swiss cheese, and a garlic dill pickle wedge on the side.

      Yellow mustard is better than *no* mustard, but it's really only good on a Schlotzky's sandwich.
      Speaking of which, the Tryers should taste a Schlotzky's, if they have those in Ireland.
      Other than that particular sandwich, though, spicy mustard is superior to yellow mustard, at all times, in every possible way.

    I was a little taken aback when I saw "Kaffir Lime" (1st bottle). "Kaffir" is an epithet that Afrikaaners (South Africans of Dutch heritage) call black people. But according to Google kaffir lime is the actual name of the plant.

    In Italy we have a drink called Bombardino, made with a liqueur similar to Advocat, called Vov, heated up with whipped cream on top, to sip in the winter after skiing in the Alps or at Christmastime in the cities in norther Italy.

    Advocaat is used for making Snowballs which I think I've had pretty much every Christmas since I was a kid, I hadn't tried it neat until a few years ago and was surprised at just how nice it is. I've taken to drinking it just mixed with cloudy lemonade recently but still put in a few cocktail cherries and a little umbrella.
