its only been like 20 years for me 😆
There are a lot of different versions of the show that have come out since the og, and each one takes the lore in slightly different directions. my personal favorite is mystery incorporated, its the most appealing to me as an adult as it still has that charming silliness, but it does get serious and follow a real plot. in that show, daph has a crush on fred pretty much the whole time, and fred doesn't get the hint until like halfway through. velma also likes shaggy at some point and they try their hand at dating, but they realize they're better as friends. and i like that version, its a little more complex and makes the audience think a little harder about genuine connections, compatibility, etc.

Your versions could still be a couple. Fred isn’t canonically gay, that was a scrapped version of that movie that didn’t go through. He and Daphne are together in those movies

In american shows usually made asian men "nerds" or just no attractive, and because Shaggy is skinny, they may went for Fred to make him more of a normal white straight men. 😂 I thought he was the boring one growing up just by watching the movies.

I love these designs! Shaggy’s has got to be my favorite! I think the hair looks great on him. It has a similar silhouette to his classic design but it’s different enough to be a whole new look. And I just think the toast and headphones are cute lol I also love that you gave Velma dimples. I actually really like how Fred turned out, I like the hair you chose for him. It’s like a modern version of his classic hairstyle. Daphne of course looks excellent. The outfit choices were on point!
Scooby Doo canon is so inconsistent that almost anything goes lol. As you already know, there are a few versions where Velma is canonically a lesbian! Those are in 2011’s Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated (highly recommend giving it a watch! Though Velma being gay could only be implied at the time) and 2022 Trick or Treat Scooby doo.
As far as Fred being gay in the original script for the live action film, I know there was at least one joke about his ascot and the gay stereotypes surrounding it.
You’re right, Fred and Daphne are indeed a couple, or at least like eachother, in most versions of the franchise! I personally see Fred as bi in that case, but really anything goes. The actors for Fred and Daphne in the 2002 movies are actually married in real life and have been for over 20 years ❤️ sorry to infodump on Scooby, I’ve been binging everything for the last year now and it’s become a problem 😭
