I surprised she didn't mention the Roman history. Under York Minster is a Roman fort you can go down and see .
York is beautiful....so many things to see and do. It's like stepping back in time.
The Yorvik Centre is brilliant been a few times,only live 1 hour away,you get the sounds and smells and hear the language they spoke then,you can hear them chatting to each other as you go through the village,love it.
I was in York Last month its a Fantastic city my Favourite.

Best thing about York is despite everything it has to offer it is soooo much cheaper than London. A train trip to The fantasric Harrogate Or to WHITBY.
Yes York is a bit like a theme park. Loads for the tourist but not as good for residents where facilities are sadly lacking

We spent a couple of days in York for my birthday, and it was the perfect trip. If I could, I would live there. Word of warning, though, the Shambles is heaving with Harry Potter fans from all over the world. 🪄
