I said it 11 years ago, but I will say it again. The Build up towards the climax from 1:31 is seriously one of the finest Mario Paint Composer moments we will ever witness, and it legit brings me to tears with just how insanely powerful it is. It's one of those moments that have ingrained itself into my brain, and I can never unhear it in any other version and not think about how well you executed it. There are a lot of amazing Mario Paint Arrangements out there, but this one will forever be the absolute king. Absolutely insane stuff
POPTART THIS IS AWESOME :O I didn't think a song as fast-paced and frantic as this would work really well in MPC but you managed to do it really well. Like/Like and Favorited, this kicks so much ass.
Congrats on the 300 subs! :D The composition is mind blowing, every little bit is done so carefully and accurately throughout. To take out one thing I liked out of the long list, I really liked the way you did the trumpet slides. Anyway, very well done, give yourself a pat on the back! :D
Dude, this is incredible. I'm very picky about video game music, because I don't like arranged or non-original versions that aren't ripped straight from the game, and I LOVE this. This is absolutely fantastic. This, and your Bomberman one are just unreal. AWESOME work. :)
@skatemancory222 Thank you man 8-D I really appreciate that. I'm glad to know you love my stuff :-D And don't worry I'll be making plenty more videos in the future :-P
@Guitarmaster7272 Ah, well i used dickspeed to provide myself with more space to place notes on any one beat. Making the tempo much faster allows you to place notes on an adjacent line and have them sound like they belong to the same beat as the notes on the line before :-) This tempo here was 2728, though it was 5456 for a couple files due to 2728 not allowing me to create the necessary triplets ;-P It takes a bit longer to place notes, but it's not bad :-P Thank you for your kind comment! 8-D
Thanks bro! Granted, the DJ was a fellow MPCer, and this was a college radio station lolol. But still, it was an honor. I wish I could be as active and progressed in my unfinished works as I used to be, I'm just far too busy these days. I'm looking forward to a magic chunk of free time that I can devote to catching what works I missed from those people I most enjoy listening to, such as yourself.
This was the best thing to wake up to. Ever. Love this, and even if it feels slightly empty at parts, there didn't seem to be anything for you to add except strings which aren't in the original, so you kept it accurate. I especially loved the instrument combos for the pitch bending brass :B. Like.
Fffffffffudge lol I wish I had some fudge to give you because this is one of the most awesome, splendorous, amazing, umm.... FANTASTIC Mario Paint Compositions I've ever heard! :D
@JohnFreeman1337 8-PP Yeah sorry, RUclips was being stupid and wouldn't let me upload it for like a full day >:-| But that means a lot JF, thank you very much! :-D
@ChristeriousNinja Much appreciated :-D I know what you mean, I was thinking about improvising the harmony at some points too. In the end I decided to just go with what I could actually hear because I didn't want to put something down and have it be distracting :-P
POPTART!!!! You're freaking amazing!!! I've always wanted to do this piece, but I guess you beat me to it! :) Anyway, this is very well executed, but the one thing I would like to make a comment on (if I may) is the stars as the high-hat/triangle instrument. I understand the stars are somewhat of a necessary evil, but I do feel they are a bit piercing (maybe it's my headphones?) But yeah, other than that everything else I'd have to say is totally positive!!! xD Keep up the amazing work!
I personally liked the original version of this better than the Brawl version (not sure why, just sounded better to me), but you made it sound freakin' amazing. Love it! Keep it
Lol, thanks man. I was just listening to your Last Remote yesterday, actually :-P The school year finally just ended, so I should have more time than before now to do a little MPCing :-P
@flyinginamoonlitsky :-D I really appreciate that, thanks!! Hmm, I think this took me about 3 weeks or so working on and off if I remember correctly :-P
X-D Thank you very much Haunter, I really appreciate that :-D Yeah the percussion is always something difficult to recreate in MPC :-P I'm glad to be back too. Now I can FINALLY catch up on your videos X-P
This is perfect. I love how you DONT just go from one high to low note. Big musical person yet I forgot what that's called lol. You make sure to get all the little notes in there that compliments the change of notes. That makes the music better and more full if you understand what I mean
I actually think some parts could be beter, but then again I've been complaining about my compositions lately as well. Couldn't have done it better. I really like it :)
I know where it's originally from, but I put "SSBB" in the title since this is my take on the Brawl arrangement of the song, which is certainly different from the Super Star/Air Ride version
Those four minutes really flew by. I didn't even notice, you know, cause it's so awesome. Include a link to OST for people to see the initiative you had to tackle such a song?
Wow... I literally listened to the first 5 seconds, and I immediately Liked it. This is flat-out amazingly EPIC~ :] How long did it take you to make this, from start to finish??
Thanks a lot! :-D Yeah, I made things sound less full purposely in some spots to keep the instrumentation more accurate to the OST, and in other spots it happened beyond my control due to me running out of room :-P
@GuruXander6060 I had fun using both of them :-D I was a bit worried about what people would think about the flowers, but I guess they worked out well :-) Thanks man!!
@kitchenmaniac111 X-D Thanks very much man! I like taylorbaldwin's version for its own unique quality, but I wanted to try and optimize everything here :-P It was a lot of fun :-D
Yeah I understand, I was back and forth with using the stars X-P I always try to stay away from them (regarding cymbal stuff) but I always find myself coming back to use them because I can't use boats too well... Also, I might have gotten used to playing back my song over and over such that I became used to the stars and they didn't seem loud anymore if they were before :-P Anyway, thanks Galla! :-D
I have to say this, I'm quite surprised taht you didn't just use the low A glitch in here, rather, you used the no volume thing. I understand it on the coins, but not on like the cars, flowers, gameboys and such. But hey, that's just me, this is still awesome.
@agubokwu Thank you :-) But what do you mean? I'm not trying to claim ownership of the original song from Nintendo, if that's what you mean. This is just an arrangement of the song.
@Trogdorbad Well my instinct is always to lower the volume completely when trying to cut off sounds, partially because you can fit 5 cut-off notes on the same line. I did use the low-A glitch where it was needed, however. It was impossible for me in some places to just lower the volume :-P
@ElectricPopTart18 i guess, cuz i mean i have used that method before, but i've never had reasoning to ever go over a tempo of 2000 in any of my songs (except for one i used merely to test the highest tempo possible, accurately titled 'IT'S OVER 9000'), and even with that i could have used like 1000, cuz i used drums on every other beat. how fast was this one, like 4000? wouldn't it take forever just put each note on? this is by far my favorite MPC and i applaud you for doing it on OSF
@Guitarmaster7272 Yes, I did it all by ear :-) Yeah there is a good amount of trial and error, but each "mistake" before you get the right thing doesn't take long to fix at all. Regarding tempo, it all has to do with math. I always start by finding a much slower tempo that matches and then multiplying it by some factor to keep the same tempo but provide me with more room to place notes. As a result, the space between each note as it would be in the slow tempo increases by that factor :-)
@IroncladPhazon Well honestly it wasn't bad at all, it actually was quite smooth and had great visual quality like they always do :-) It just sounded slightly muffled for whatever reason... Oh well, whadaya gonna do :-P Thanks a lot for your help though Phazon, I appreciate it. And thank you for the compliment! :-D I like how those files turned out as well :-)
For sure, I had a list of songs I plan to do on my channel, but RUclips likes to make that disappear for some reason. I plan to definitely make the File Select theme from TTYD, I think Bowser's theme from TTYD, and even the King Croacus Battle theme from Super Paper Mario. There might have been others too that I've been planning to make, but I don't remember right now lol.
Yeah you're talking about the glissandos or pitch bends, haha. Those are always fun things to try to recreate. My goal is always to recreate as much detail as possible from the original song, which in this case means recreating every change in pitch from point A to point B as accurately as possible. I love how full an arrangement sounds with a lot of detail too. Thanks!
Epic arrangement. This is one fcking awesome composition. You got it down pat. Better than taylorbaldwin's one, definitely. To you, sir, I award one cookie shaped like an internet, and a free Gabe Newell.
You're so kind! I still dabble in making things to eventually upload, I'm just slow on progress due to how real life is now. But eventually there will be new things! :-)
And after listened to it again, I've gotta echo what everyone else has said; in terms of technicality this is perfect, and creative too. Improvised harmony at points is the only improvement I could think of, and that's really just a minor thing since it was enjoyable regardless. Plus I never really noticed the stars, I recall something similar being in the original and they didn't stand out for me. I would 'like' this over and over if I could :B.
I'll be entirely honest right now
this is better than about 99% of MarioPaint remixes
I met a knight before
Kina Anderson Hehehe
Kina Anderson and I thought I had bad puns but there's always chuggaconroy for even worse puns
:l
Kina Anderson don't worry I love the pun
Hah!
That was a VERY impressive remix, especially at my childhood favorite part. :3 1:33 - 1:57
+Chris Slitas Thanks very much for that man! I absolutely love that part too :-P
S/O to Kirby Super Star for starting the trend of including that awesome bit into every boss theme.
Mine too

Almost the tenth anniversary of this gem! Still love it to this day...
Hard to believe it's been that long... Thanks, good to know it still kicks!
Congrats on the 300 subs! :D

Hahaha EPIC!! I love this theme immensely and I'm starting to think that this one is better! Excellent work here dude!
How did I not come across this video before? Great work!
+Cretium Thanks a lot!
Fffffffffudge lol I wish I had some fudge to give you because this is one of the most awesome, splendorous, amazing, umm.... FANTASTIC Mario Paint Compositions I've ever heard! :D
@JohnFreeman1337 8-PP
Yeah sorry, RUclips was being stupid and wouldn't let me upload it for like a full day >:-|
But that means a lot JF, thank you very much! :-D
The slides are amazing.
At certain parts I felt that it sounded a bit empty.
You still did a great job on this song!
"Like" and Favorite
It's 2017 and this is still sick asff
Oh god, I've been listening to your stuff since last night, and you are amazing.
It's a sign that this is still my favorite MPC, and dropping by to say hello, and that I'm listening to this thing for like the 100th time lmao.
What I did after watching this:
1. Gave in thumbs up.
2. Favorited it.
3. Subscribed!
Amazing Job!
Ah gee... you have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to finish this.
But the wait was worth it. God I love this
@BM5072 Wow, thank you so much for that compliment 8-D That means a lot! I'm really glad you love it :-D
i love how you managed to put every instrument in there :D very well done
*is listening to this for the 100th time*
...
Lol. Looks like I'm not the only one. This is still amazing...
We miss ya Pops.
@ChristeriousNinja Much appreciated :-D I know what you mean, I was thinking about improvising the harmony at some points too. In the end I decided to just go with what I could actually hear because I didn't want to put something down and have it be distracting :-P
I don't remember if I commented on this before, but it deserves another anyways. So freakin good!
I'm always impressed to see people do these kinds of videos.
This is phenomenally good and very accurate! Extremely precise!! Nice!!!!
POPTART!!!! You're freaking amazing!!! I've always wanted to do this piece, but I guess you beat me to it! :) Anyway, this is very well executed, but the one thing I would like to make a comment on (if I may) is the stars as the high-hat/triangle instrument. X-DD I'm glad you enjoyed it man, thanks!
Lol I love the SSBB version, so thanks for the compliment! Haha
@Levus28 Much thanks Levi!! :-D X-D Glad you like it! And glad that you like how I taste 8-|
Great work per usual.
Congratz on the 300 subs... I think you deserve 30,000 subs. =]
This is amazing! :-D

Wow, thank you very much Lihyahm!!
Jesus, this is pretty much pitch perfect. Bravo dude (or dudette. Are you human?)
@TheTKC Wow, thanks for that compliment! I'm glad to know you enjoyed it! :-D
Wow... I literally listened to the first 5 seconds, and I immediately Liked it. This is flat-out amazingly EPIC~ :]
How long did it take you to make this, from start to finish??
@Tehlnternet Omg, that is a great comment X-D Thank you very much for that :-P
Lord almighty, 7 years later and I still love this to death. You are too good at this.
lol how long did this take you? :P There's so many elements, volume control, instruments in place and epiciness in this piece, this wins! xP
Thanks a lot! :-D Yeah, I made things sound less full purposely in some spots to keep the instrumentation more accurate to the OST, and in other spots it happened beyond my control due to me running out of room :-P
@Ultrathing Thank you Ultrathing!! :-DD It feels good to release something too since I haven't done it in a while :-P
1:25-1:30 meowing 8 bit noises?
mario paint composer is 16 bit
I used youtube´s yellow button to subscribe as accurate as possible, man I seriously need to update my subscriptions to MPCers
Thank you AZ! That reminds me, I should continue The Decisive Battle...
@GuruXander6060 I had fun using both of them :-D I was a bit worried about what people would think about the flowers, but I guess they worked out well :-) Thanks man!!
You're so complimentary, thank you!
@kitchenmaniac111 X-D Thanks very much man! I like taylorbaldwin's version for its own unique quality, but I wanted to try and optimize everything here :-P It was a lot of fun :-D
@MediaMunkee X-P Thanks a lot man, glad you liked it :-DD
still come back to this; it was the mpc that changed my life
u are insane you r, my mind is blown away
subbed
by far your best work
Haha it's alright. The original version does have several similarities to the Brawl remake, so I'm not surprised you thought it was based on that one.
WOW-WOW!!!! WOOOOOW!!! To do this in Mario Paint is a massive achievement!
Much appreciated, bro!
Yeah I understand, I was back and forth with using the stars X-P I always try to stay away from them (regarding cymbal stuff) but I always find myself coming back to use them because I can't use boats too well... Thanks Lite, that means a lot!
@guy19910 I just listened to the original song and used trial and error with the program until I had something that sounded right :-)
@agubokwu Thank you :-) But what do you mean? I'm not trying to claim ownership of the original song from Nintendo, if that's what you mean. This is just an arrangement of the song.

@BlutoCash Thank you!! :-P Yeah that's a good idea, I included one now in the video! :-)
Thank you, Adolfo! It is much appreciated! :-D
This...this is freaking awesome.
@knoginator Really? :-O Thank you very much, I'm glad you really like it!! :-D
@mario7mario3 Thanks man! It took me about two weeks to make it, with a handful of hours each day devoted to it :-P
Like i said before. "YOU ARE A GOD WITH MPC!!" :D
@hellspawn3200 Thank you very much for the compliment! :-D Yes it is :-)

@CheatMasterK I like the original version too for its own reasons :-) Thank you very much, I appreciate it!
2018 and it seems new and fresh
Far better than the SSBB version, I must say. That's sort of not saying much, but... ehh...
My point is - excellent work.
Can't say anything more than EPIC WIN!!
Epic arrangement. This is one fcking awesome composition. You got it down pat. Better than taylorbaldwin's one, definitely.
To you, sir, I award one cookie shaped like an internet, and a free Gabe Newell.
It's the best MPC of all, of course you'll keep coming back :P
Thanks man glad you like it :-D
7 years late to the party but this is amazing. you've earned yourself a subscriber for life.. if you still make videos that is :/
You're so kind! I still dabble in making things to eventually upload, I'm just slow on progress due to how real life is now. But eventually there will be new things! :-)
