Insanely fast tempo lets you do a LOT more with Mario Paint Composer. That & finding instruments with similar waveforms to what the original uses helps too.
Dear lord, an even more demented and twisted version of Zant's Battle theme. This kind of madness should never have escaped the Twilight Realm, but I'm glad you made it. The final phase fade out is a bit too steep, though.
YIKES. This sorely needs to be defined as epic, badass, win, and all sorts of other words. Seriously - making the baby noise sound menacing is an accomplishment, as is using every instrument but Yoshi. Insane tempo, insane instrumentation, for a boss that is pure insanity, and I love it.
That's so kind of you, lol. I'm really happy you see my stuff as inspiration. But I know you'll get better with practice! Regarding my tempo, I think it was in the 3000's-4000's for most of the song and the 5000's for the final part of the battle, though I don't totally remember. I personally like higher tempos just because they give you ability to play more notes per beat, heh.
The original soundfont percussion always requires some sort of creativity :-/ Thanks very much for the compliment! It's good to know the result I got after playing around with the percussion seemed to turn out right :-D
Wow, I can't believe how much people like this song lol. I'm really glad you love it, and I really appreciate the great compliments! :-D Thanks a lot man! Though I don't feel I'm as godly as you say I am :-/
i've been coming back to this video since 2011, and trust me, it NEVER get's old, very well done!!, i am an MPC user and this is well above my standards, hopefully one day i will be able to do this as well as you do, keep up the great work! and thank you for inspiring me to make songs on MPC ! ~Nami
That's such a huge compliment dude, I appreciate it! What really made this song appeal to me for making it in MPC was indeed those sound effects, I thought that would just be a blast to recreate. I feel there are certainly a bunch of MPCs since though where people have used crazy instrument combos and tricks lol
Wow O_O Thank you Eso, I appreciate that! :-D I thought about doing that, but to be honest I forgot the names of all the bosses each phase is based off of :-P Maybe I'll look them up and put in annotations lol.
aw >u< no problem, and i've ALWAYS loved this boss battle music, when i saw this, i just, well, it went a bit crazy in my head because of the perfect accuracy and sound effects XD a lot of your videos are my inspiration to continue making stuff in MPC, i'm still at beginner level ouo' may i also ask the tempo range you use? it might help me :) !!
Faces and dogs hurt my ears. After hearing the original though, you definitely managed to get the sounds right. In fact, the whole song is amazingly close to the original. I can admire that you did it by ear too. Every MPC song I've heard that was done by ear just comes out better because you have to really hear both the original and your own song. I also love anything that's experimental in MPC, and I've never heard some of the stuff you did before. Overall, really cool and really well made.
You already know how I feel about the song choice. :P I went into this thinking your craft would have to be really impressive for me to fully enjoy the song. After I finished listening, I was fully impressed. 5* + fav
@ElectricPopTart18 It really is amazing. Brings me back to when I fought this guy. I absolutely love the OST to TP. Truly amazing compilation of original tracks.
jesus christ i still love this so much its still one of the few mpcs that uses a massive ton of unique combinations and contrast between instruments, all put into one mpc. the amount of unique tricks you pulled of is countless in this, and yet there's only been a few mpcs after this in which they achieved this standard!
Well that is quite a compliment, thank you! It's flattering to know that my stuff inspires others. Keep at it, your skills always get better with practice :-)
I love all the small touches you add, to the piece with the various instrument combos and the video as a whole. Of course the MPC is as great as usual and while not so catchy or melodic it was very technical and showed great skill, which is why you have 100 subs :P 5/5
@metroidfan29 Thanks! :-DD I noticed that much of the OST's overall pitch didn't match up with that of Mario Paint Composer. Things were often out of tune when I was making it lol. So I did my best trying to make things sound accurate, but I may have messed up here and there based off of what I heard in my ear :-/
This is by far the most impressive composition I've seen in a while. Might I suggest, you should add annotations that say which environmant one is fighting Zant in. This is better than 5/5
Wow! Good stuff! The recreation of the sound effects is really good for the original sf. I really like the final phase, with all the gameboys swans and pirhanas! Its ace! All I can say, really, is the bongos (at least I think they're bongos) that start in phase 1and go until about half way through the video, might have sounded better with mushrooms rather than boats. But, whatever! :P Great work! :D Its about time I subscribed to you, I think... :)
WOW. I know the whole OST off by heart and it sounded exactly like it! I've never seen anything Like it! It's amazing! I even downloaded it! It's just BRILLIANT!!!! (overreaction alert)
The Power Pony The pair of themes is certainly pretty neat. It wouldn't be too complicated, but I'm not going to promise I'll be making it due to time constraints. We'll see!
Zaaa za za.... OOOOOOH MMMMMMY GGGGGGGOD!!! This is PERFECT!!!! the bass sounds evil The drums are still as crazy as heck! um.. um.... AMAZING!!!! After people watching this vid, you gonna do a 1000,000,000,000,000,000 sub special!!!!!!!!!! 5/5, sub, faved and faved on the computer! Well done! Your a god among kind!!!
Hahaha X-D Yeah, Ikind of feel like it is a requirement that people listen to the OST before listening to my arrangement for that sort of reason :-P Thanks for the really great compliment and the sub! And how am I not subbed to you either? :-O Well that's fixed now :-D
Thanks Mr. Sub!! I appreciate it! It's funny, I feel the least comfortable with the final phase because the tempo gap plus the lagging makes it totally not up to speed :-P And I thought about using mushrooms instead of boats for the ongoing bongo sounds, but it actually sounded less accurate and was harder to hear :-/ Thanks again!
X-D The level itself was challenging, but I thought the Zant battle was a lot easier than it could have been in my opinion :-| I love Zant as a character though lol :-P
@12ZELDALINK Aw thanks X-D And you're welcome :-P Yes, actually I think virtually all recording programs have a way of recording sound through your computer's speakers instead of through your mic. CamStudio is one example. However, a requirement to do so is to turn on and use the "Stereo Mix" option within your Recording devices. Most likely you don't have it, so you would need to get it and doing so is usually a hassle. Search for tuitorials on RUclips and Google to help you out.
@12ZELDALINK Majora's Mask is awesome :-D The thing with Woodfall Temple's theme, though, is that it's mostly all percussion, and Mario Paint Composer has a limited variety of percussive sounds. Even if I could pull it off, I'm not interested enough in the song to recreate it :-/
Yay, now that this epicness is done, you can get working on more cool stuff *cough*themetroidsongsimtoolazytoworkonsoishovethemontootherpeople*cough* Seriously though, this is awesome.
Lol, this is actually the first time I've ever used faces in a song because I can never find a use for them :-P I felt like the dog-face combo was a perfect fit there, however lol. Thank you very much for the kind words :-D
How.
Why does it sound so close to the original
Insanely fast tempo lets you do a LOT more with Mario Paint Composer. That & finding instruments with similar waveforms to what the original uses helps too.

Lolol menacing baby noise X-D Thanks very much I appreciate it man! :-D

The final phase fade out is a bit too steep, though.
Dude,,,,,, this sounds so much like the original song! you did an amazing job replicating it!
Thanks man! Really appreciate it! :)

Well done.

back again for my yearly watch 😂😂😂
If you ever found the time to recreate this, that would be so based.
Happy holidays mate ! 👍
What how is this so accurate?? You got magic in your hands I'm so impressed ngl
Wow, I can't believe how much people like this song lol. I'm really glad you love it, and I really appreciate the great compliments! :-D Thanks a lot man! Though I don't feel I'm as godly as you say I am :-/

What a kind compliment, thanks! And oo, awesome! I actually used CamStudio to record here, heh
That's so kind of you man :-D Thanks a lot, I'm glad to see you enjoyed those parts as much as I did making them, haha
THS IS SO GOOD!
I CRI BECAUSE I CAN ONLY WHISTLE.
I CANNOT MUSIC FOR SHIT-
Wow O_O Thank you Eso, I appreciate that! :-D I thought about doing that, but to be honest I forgot the names of all the bosses each phase is based off of :-P Maybe I'll look them up and put in annotations lol.
I love how you made that clashing noise near the beginning!
This videos old but I still just wanna say great job it sounds awesome
Thanks so much friend! :D I really appreciate that, it's great to know that my old stuff can still be enjoyed by people. I still love this one too!

I appreciate that very much :-D Thank you, that phase turned to be my favorite in this arrangement as well!

Well done mate this is amazing :)
Wow. This is a million times better than anything I could make.
Subbed. =DD
wow this must have taken forever for you to make. nice work
The Power Pony Yeah it took a couple weeks I think lol. Thanks a lot!
ElectricPopTart18 Just asking, but can you make Diababa's theme too? Both phases? Unless that one is too complicated?

The cats on the final phase were perfect! :)
This is definately one of my favorite Mario Paint compositions.
I've never seen such a detailed mario paint composer track
hello!
its great to see you again!
Thanks a lot! I think the 3000's-4000's for most of the song and then the 5000's for the final battle part.
amazing, although the transition between the phases seems a bit... off. but other wise its perfect
+Quasar Gaming I kinda know what you mean, it's slightly unrefined haha. Oh well :-P
Really? I sorta like the fact that it sounds a bit like the treasure sound here
Really awesome!
6/5, it's perfect!
:-D Thank you very much, Brian!
oh, wow, this is amazing. i especially love the ook part. XD
This is AWESOME. Great job. Must have been a lot of hard work!

Yeah, the song inherently is sort of empty-sounding at times :-/ But thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you like my arrangement!
hey electricpoptart18! you worked so hard on this that im gonna give you a special gift on wensday.
