Beautiful video. Early 80's Renault Gordini turbo had a beautiful sound. Also the black-yellow-white livery of the cars was wonderful. I love it...
The noise of the gearbox...awesome!
Here is what Prost had to say in 1981 about driving the RE30 with huge turbo lag on twisty street circuits like Monaco and Long Beach: "When we do get some response, it's very brutal. The power doesn't come in progressively but brutally which makes the wheels spin. Driving the RE30 F1 Turbo on such circuits is a very delicate business.”

@ 7:40 Prost not yet doing in 1981 one of his trademarks moves: heel-toe downshifting all gears in one shot (sequential downshifting instead like all other drivers)
It was is trademark later he would do the same with the Ferrari automatic gear box.
Schumacher would slam it into the gear he needed maybe 2 steps with one HT, Senna would go through every gear on the downchanges.
