Fun fact: Doomguy using weapons to weaken demons before finishing them of with a glory kill is actually canon to Doom lore. Doomguy can easily tear demons with his hands but then they would be granted a quick, somewhat painless death. But Doomguy uses his weapons just for fun and to inflict more pain to the demons.
I personally think another reason he uses weapons instead of simply one shooting demons with his bare hands is to prevent collateral damage and not accidentally destroy the universe.

@@djw_tekken8490 Most speed powerscaling is just hollow feats of x is faster than y with no justification for characters to reach c(beating actual light isn't a c feat bc light is slower than c, perfect vacuums aren't real) let alone be FTL. Real speed feats would be actually travelling absurd distances really fast, insane output of kinetic energy and reversal of causality. And those feats are honestly quite rare, especially considering the first one often has warping of spacetime to muddle the waters. Regarding goku, it's strange bc I don't think Toriyama even knows what lightspeed is/cares at all ab his series having internal or external logic. It's entirely possible to say "hurr durr goku has infinite speed" because the setting doesn't even make sense and we shouldn't take gag mangas seriously

Believe it or not, the power scale of the Doom Slayer must be higher than 1A, and to make it easier to imagine:
Hell is a terrifying Outerverse that can swallow all types of dimension even the Void, and it's just only a part of Davoth's power. And the Doom slayer defeated him in a duel without difficulty.
The Doom Slayer was able to keep up and defeated the Dark Lord Davoth. who created and would destroy Hell itself. A Multiversal to arguably Hyperversal Dimension that predates time and space and Hell itself is a extension of the Dark Lord's Power and It is connected to him.

However the issue is that there isn't much cosmological evidence and the word "dimensions" in Doom don't refer to spatial dimensions but moreso to universes. Because of this I believe it refers to Hell being unbound by any other realm in the Doomverse so not Outerversal.

I think one of the creators of some of the games said in an interview once that Doomguy is supposed to be a representation of the player themselves - literally the embodiment of the gaming spirit within the actual lore of the games. It makes sense when you think about how videogames work, they may be challenging and sometimes downright discouraging but at the end of the day you are guaranteed to win because that's the whole point of the game. To put it simply, he basically has infinite plot armor by design and the lore was built around that fact, just like how the game is made for the gamer, not the other way around.

I think that when it comes to the Doom Slayer using weapons and having armor it's more something he's comfortable with then anything. after all he's a military man at his core and even the dark lord uses weapons and armor so it's possible that trait was impressed upon him as well when he became powered by Devoth's energy to beat him. sure he could kill demons in one shot but he's not ever going to do so outside of a time when he's literally going Berserk and has lost his mind cuz it doesn't feel right. basically the Berserk PowerUp just makes him become the strongest being in the multiverse without mental limits
I like the fact that the slayer is so ridicoulisly powerfull and all, but at the same time, he feels incredibly sad. Yes he is awsome, yes many people see the slayer as an actual god, but he will also forever be alone.

I was actually able to scale The Slayer consistently to Outerverse+. Low Complex multiverse is a bit of a lowball since the Sentinels are easily 5-6D and Urdak is easily above them, an Hell is above them, making Hell at least 7D. Though there are scans that get Hell easily into Outerversal.
And he has a bunch of OP hax as well. Like fate manipulation and reality warping.
Finally someone who understands how strong doomguy is!
Doom Slayer can realistically destroy a universe with no effort, maybe even a mulitverse. The only character that can for sure beat him are Son Wukong and Kirby, but Amazo and some SCPs are pretty close as well, but I don’t think they can beat him.

The Monkey is bloody Boundless, I think infinite layers into it too. And yeah, there’s plenty of SCPs that either stalemate or surpass the Slayer entirely, though that’s not really fair since SCP is debated for a position as one of the strongest verses ever. And last I heard, yes The Slayer should be able to defeat Amazo.
And we actually have a statement of The Slayer and Hell’s battles causing the implosion of a multiverse. He can definitely destroy a High Hyperverse multiverse.
I meant that those were the things that CAN beat the Slayer. Kirby solos everything according to the lore of the games, including Son Wukong and the Doom Slayer. Wukong has basically the entirety of fiction, save for the afore mentioned Kirby, and maybe a few SCPs, covered in terms of can he beat them or not. On the topic of SCPs, I fully agree that there are quite a few SCPs that can beat the Doom Slayer, like the Scarlet King for example. However, you did misunderstand what I was saying about Wukong, and I just wanted to clear that up. Wukong does, indeed, destroy the Doom Slayer.

Last I checked, he caps at Multiverse+ to Low Complex Multiverse. The Slayer on a lowball is Complex Multiverse. Hell firstly is at minimum 5D as time does not exist there and Urdak, home of the makers is said to be higher dimensional with the maker angels being transecended beings. And the dark lord is infinitely higher than that.

The slayer's suit is impenetrable. He wears it so he can focus more on his ripping and tearing as opposed to every individual projectile.

6:19 gameplay mechanics is our entertainment in video games and it doesn't represent their actual limits of their physical strength for most game characters and it does not necessarily align and coincide with the Lore of the game you are playing. If Doom's gameplay resembled it's Doom Lore Counterpart then the gameplay loop of Doom Eternal would just be the Doom Slayer running around using only Infinite Berserk Mode and one-shotting every single entire Demon.

I think the slayer uses weapons to insure that the demons he kills have a negative chance of rising again. Although he is capable of killing demons just with his hands I feel like he chooses to use weapons just so enemies like the icon and even smaller examples like a baron or a hell nite are extra dead because he will never give a demon another chance no matter how big the bribe might be.
Realistically, the only fictional character that can beat Doom Slayer in any way would be Son Wukong. Superman? Gone. Goku? Destroyed. Kratos? No chance. Dante? Demon=Death. With the power to destroy the infinite multiverse by simple force of pure rage, nothing other than the one being that can solo the entirety of fiction with a thought can even cone close to his power level.
He is strong af but Marvel, DC, Dark tower, world of darkness and SCP verses have lots of characters who can beat him.

i dont think doomslayer can fall under a typical power scale, this is just my take, but i think he will always scale above his opponent. basically, if he's fighting something, his power will just automatically scale above who he's fighting to ensure his victory. no matter who he's fighting, be it an everyday normal human being or the damn scarlet king, his power always change to match his opponent.

Realistically, the two are VERY different in power, considering Kratos wouldn’t last a second against the omnipotent Davoth. I won’t deny that Kratos is extremely powerful, but people should really compare Doom Slayer to more powerful characters, like Amazo or the Scarlet King.

He's died multiple times and the only reason he escaped death every time was because he had help. Even in 3 he wouldn't have been able to kill Hades and escape without Athena intervening.

Doom Slayer can beat gods infinitely more powerful than the ones in GoW, and with ease. Kratos struggles with most gods, in both the newer games and the old ones. Plus, Kratos has no way of even putting a scratch on the Doom Slayer. Yeah, sure, he might have the strength to flip the 9 realms, but we still have yet to see Doom Slayer’s full strength. It’s not the same with Kratos. There is absolutely no chance that Kratos would even be considered a competitor to the Doom Slayer in power.
