The only problem with the design is that it only has a high pitched tweeter alarm which many seniors can't hear. I can't hear it either unless I'm in the same room. A low frequency buzzer or a loud voice alarm would be much better. When using the dispenser, you cannot use gummy pills or gel pills (like some vitamins) because they jam the works. Tiny pills are fine as long as they are hard. They do not slip through into adjacent bins when dumping which was a concern of mine when I first bought it.
I have the bluetooh model. Are you considering to put the apolication in other languages? Like Spanish. So far it has been a perfect solution for a friend of mine with memory problems.

what if you take some pills once a day and some twice a day and some 3 times per day?
this is based on dosages, not days. so you set 3 alarms per day and organise 3 separate dosages.
