  • This is another great trainer if your in the market for one. It features very predictable flying capabilities with a little bit of sportiness mixed in.
It runs great on a 2200 3s centered in the battery tray. Top loader so that is great!
You can get it directly from FMS or get it like I did from HH. Here is a non affiliate link: www.horizonhob...

This is one of those great trainers that makes for a great transition into scale flying of rc planes! This one modeled after the Cessna 150!

Good discussion of the "feel" of an airplane. I find it interesting that the response of a plane to stick movements translates to a perception of heaviness/lightness or responsive vs. sluggish. My Air Tractor feels much heavier that my Valiant even though I fly both with the same transmitter, same gimbals, etc. This is hard for a new or non-pilot to understand, because it really doesn't make sense. This RC business is a fascinating hobby!

That why I say one day youre just able to "feel" the plane one day and you will never forget the feeling.!

Sometimes the simplest RC airplanes are among the best. I liked this one far more than I thought I would.

You could mention that one of the things that is good about the AP club is that flight training for new pilots is free. I have taught many to fly over the years. As a matter of fact I tell new folks not to spend a dime on anything....learn to take off, fly around under control, and land on the clubs nickle...then it is time to think about spending money on the hobby. Our club is growing and a good policy for new pilots is part of the reason why. Over 60 members for a little place like Avon Park.

I have often looked at this plane on the HH site, I do like it's a tricycle gear and it comes with a pair of floats ...but I prefer the Arrows Bigfoot PNP ...as it comes with flaps, lights, and a better price ....how would you compare their flight characteristics after flying them both ? ... thanks for reviewing this plane

2 different animals completely. The bigfoot is a little heavier and better on all terrain where the Ranger is better on a smooth surface. Both are excellent but if I could only own one it would be the Bigfoot. MORE versatile.

I ripped the whole tail end off Bigfoot because I didn't know what I was doing...trust me it was my fault. I glued it back together and flew this past Monday..for the first time and OMG it was so much fun. Very tough plane...flew awesome.. sturdy landing gear too,.
