Wow! This is amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these tutorials. I’m still semi new to resin and didn’t realize all the possibilities that multiple layers could create!
My son, my youngest son's girlfriend visiting from Georgia, and I, are all going to do this today to bring in the New Year! Excited to share how it turns out with you! Thanks for this video!
Thank you for sharing your hard work, these are stunning! Don't know why anyone would down view this. So much effort in the resin work and filming! I also love your time-line in the description ❤
Thank you! You worked so hard on those! They are gorgeogous. I'm making a sculpture with resin bases for top and bottom. This gives me lots of ideas for the top!
It looks amazing! You put a lot of time and effort redoing the lines as the lines disappear as the resin is still runny . If you had let it cure bit more, you could get the lines to stay in place with less effort. I too leant the hard way. Anyway the final result is awesome! Well done 👏🏻
These are incredible. If you don’t mind me asking. What kind of Resin do you use, I always feel rushed doing small things. I’m not sure how to get the info. New to youTube. Thanks
This is just so breathtaking! And the steps you guve us to break it down. Just a billion thank yous from a fan! Can I ask what your using in between heating?
Hi, I do still have the mold stick in spots occasionally, but typically they don't. I don't hold the torch or the heat gun close to the mold, just far enough away to ripple the surface. Once i get the resin where I want it, I stop using the heat gun and switch to the torch. the rule of thumb on the torch is to hold it at least 3 inches above the resin. One thing that will always make the mold stick (I've noticed) is if you fill the coaster to the rim.
Christy you know your like the galaxy... out of this world 😆 but thanks for the more in depth because I did it and haha wasn’t even remotely a circular sphere in middle more like a blob I did even go back after a couple of hours to redo but still didn’t have the distinctive circles will try again.... 🥴
Caron Stone lol! I seriously have like 3 reject blobby spiral galaxy coasters in my craft room that have spurred me on this journey! I feel like I have to keep going and going drawing the spiral, then suddenly - it’s right. If you look at the first spiral layer after it cured - it’s definitely NOT impressive 🤣
Resin As You Wish Well that makes me feel less of a failure haha you do make it look too easy ! 🤗 my first one I put too much color in my spiral and when it cured it literally took up entire space I’m like okay that didn’t work no space background here! 😳

Hi, these are amazing!!! When you put the final topcoat on, I noticed you didn't have the coasters in the silicone molds, do you tape the underside or what happens to the drops from the topcoat. Thank you very much
I realize this is an older video, but I am just discovering resin work and if you ever have time to answer, it would be greatly appreciated. 1. Did you set out with a specific number of layers in mind in regards to the "galaxy swirl"? Or did you continue layers until you had the look you wanted? Do you think the result could possibly be achieved with less layers? 2. Was the Galaxy purple one you premade and somehow store or do you make it fresh each day? I ask because the container looks like it's not made daily. 3. I couldn't really tell, is your curing process time, UV, or both? And if I have that completely wrong because I saw UV lamps in other videos, I apologize. 4. Are your color combinations in any type of formula, such as 2 spoons of blue to 3 of a red? Or is it half and half? Especially with the color shift. If it is a formula, did you trial and error or find them online? The effects possible seem endless with just colored resin. Then I see what the alcohol ink does in other videos and it's blowing my mind. I don't know if you do this as a hobby or a job, but you are very talented. Artists have so may mediums to work with, I love finding new to me types of art. Regardless if you can or want to answer, thank you for sharing/teaching the Galaxy Coaster creation process.💙
Hi. I did have a specific layer amount in mind - the base, the backdrop, then the glowing/white swirls - after that you don’t have to keep going but the 3 dimensional effect was what I wanted it to be. 2. The galaxy purple is a mica powder from ColourArte and I don’t pre mix - each time I mix the colors it’s right before I’m ready to work with it. Each color I use is clear resin mixed with the color 3. Most all of the resin I use for coasters or trays will be epoxy countertop resin - so it stays flawless when using them. I don’t have UV resin, but I have used the uv light on gel nail polish. (Dragonfly coaster) 4. I do not use a formula on the color combinations, the mica powders such as the interference or shimmer colors go a long way, I add the powder in small amounts until It’s where I want it. You can find these online, at craft stores and you can use acrylic paint in resin as well. I’ve put links to everything I used in the video description. Thank you for the compliments, I don’t do this as a job, but I love it and I look forward to it every day
I'm new to epoxying and I want to know what kind of gun you're using with that nozzle is. I bought a heat gun but it produces too much heat and AIMS in too much One direction direction and tends to mess up my stuff!!!
Hello I have a question, I have resined art wood projects and i am able to get the bubbles out of it with out any issues but when I made my last three clear coasters with stones, shells and rocks there is this sandy bubble looking effect. I used a heat gun and no other bubbles popped. Can you help with finding out a way to fix that? Thanks in advance and love your stuff :)
Hi, I can only guess a little on this because I don't typically use sand, So I don't know if the sand itself is causing the sandy bubble effect. So a couple things to think about. If you fill in the coaster all the way as soon as you are ready to pour, the bubbles at thee bottom will be too deep for the heat gun to get to them, which could lead to overheating the resin which MAY be the reason for the sandy bubble effect. My suggestion is to pour in the clear in thin layers, heat/pop, then add more and repeat. Another thing you could try is to mix your resin, let it sit there for about 30 minutes in the cup - it will feel warm, but most of the bubbles will pop before you pour it. The amount of time will vary depending on the type of resin you use - hope is helps!
@@ResinAsYouWish Awesome thank you for the tip. I will try to see if its cause i dont let it sit till the bubbles pop and i also just do a big pour. Will keep this in mind for future coasters down the road :)

Question how do you keep from over heating your resin with the torch causing the mold to stick to your piece when you unmold? Beautiful work

Do you think those metallic microbeads will sink down when used in an epoxy table (2 inch thick)?

With the purple galaxy was the layer underneath dry please x
Yes, I let each layer cure enough to tap on (but not fully cure) so usually about 12 hours
Could u use blue on the 2nd layer instead of purple?
Yes, any color makes a beautiful coaster
