The way she bends those words to fuse with the music just amazes me every single time I hear it 🎶❤
If you understand the context behind the lyrics the song is even more powerful. A lot of people seem to think because the title of the song is zombie that it’s about stereotypical “zombies” (for some reason?) and/or the lyrics go completely over their head “since 1916” is referring to the Easter rebellion that happened in 1916 in Ireland and how it still goes on to some extent.
The song itself is about the troubles and because I’m actually from Northern Ireland it hits close to home - literally and figuratively.

I was born 1992 so I grew up through the tail end of all of that until the ceasefire (the good Friday agreement) was signed in 1998. It still has ended for some who still act like it’s still on but most of us want to move on, so.
I really like the way you apply sevenths and ninths to minor chords. Very pretty and not exaggerated

I used to HATE this song. My guitar teacher gave this to me for my first "song" to play on my beginner electric guitar. I now can rock it out!! Nice version, btw.
