I found this band on December 7th, 2022 and at first I could not understand too much of her words. But the more I listened to their songs, and I have been non-stop daily since, and the lyrics with the songs I began to understand her more and more. The new album, her English is even better and some say she work that part. But because of her accent, I treated her voice as an instrument to the bands playing and began understanding her more and more. As some of the Wolf Pack say, welcome to the journey, it will be an enlightened journey.
I didn't much care for Asami's voice either at first. But I came to end up loving it after a few song's. She is a tremendous voice that now wouldn't be Lovebites w/o that voice. These lady's are world class and keep improving with every Album. I'm a huge Fan. If you don't mind a Ballad I suggest a song called "Epilogue" here is a link if you want to check it out. Her voice as you will hear if you watch it is wonderful. Link--> ruclips.net/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/видео.html&ab_channel=Okku
Thanks for the reaction! In order to understand the song, you need to know the culture and traditions of Japan, the symbolism embedded in what surrounds a person (lotus, etc.),as in the East understand the structure of the world (primary elements) etc.,etc . Simple reading of the text is not enough. It is usually difficult for Europeans and Americans to understand the Japanese. "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. "Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics.. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurais and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurais and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles.
Asami is the vocalist she comes from an R&B and soul background and since English isn’t her primary language sometimes certain words can get lost in the translation due to her accent witch kind of throws people off at first witch is understandable for first time listeners and this song is more of a power metal style song so her vocals here are actually typical for this style of song with that said LOVEBITES also dives into other sub-genres of metal like Thrash/ Progressive/ Symphonic and having a singer like Asami with a variety of vocal ranges allows the band to play multiple styles of music. I will say that as someone who has listened to metal bands for years the stereotypes that metal is just a male genre is a bit overrated and this band shatters those stereotypes
The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to.When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete. In addition, they provided "WINDS OF TRANSYLVANIA" as the opening song for the TV anime "VLADLOVE".
The more you listen the more you like her voice, it will grow on you quickly, she reminds me of Ann Wilson from Heart with her operatic style, check out Judgement Day from them too.
Try their song "Edge of the World". Her vocals are the best in that one. Here's the link to the correct video: ruclips.net/video/Zr99B4RvaMc/видео.html
Legend of the dying swan is: The swan is a bird that does not sing or utter many sounds until it dies. When dying, on the other hand, it sings a song so beautiful that time halts for the briefest of moments; hence a swan song is your last song before giving in.

Many first time listeners are not fond of Asami's mezzo-soprano voice. Perhaps this song with just her and Miyako on piano will be more palatable to you? ruclips.net/video/-ZLUdCgJmjw/видео.html
In terms of female vocalists Fuki from Unlucky Morpheus is my personal favourite. But Asami has impressed me so much. Two unexpected tracks off the new album "My Orion" and "Lost in the Garden" I keep going back too and gushing over Asami's vocals...she's incredible. Watch out Fuki! She's right behind you. 🐺
Asami's vocals remind me of the first time I heard Metal Symphony songs. Like the Nightwish Band for example. I like Nightwish's arrangement and Guitar Tone but don't really like the vocalist's voice because I'm not used to opera characters especially during Tarja's era. But after listening to a few songs I got used to and amazed by the sound of opera. Floor is great but I miss Tarja if you know them lol. This also happened when I first listened to Lovebites songs. It sounded weird at first, I mean Asami's vocals but it wasn't until halfway through the song that I started to notice her singing abilities. She's really great and sounds melodious to my ears lol I just discovered Lovebites a few weeks ago and have only listened to 7-8 songs but they are already number one metal band for me especially in this era.
I´m addicted to asamis wonderful voice. but liking or disliking a voice is just a matter of taste. not quality, so, no problem. you were honest and fair. for me this band is the best, that appeared in the last decades in metal music. lovebites are unique. they have a background catalogue of around sixty songs, not a single bad, stale or mediocre song in it. I do not know any other band with such a record. maybe you should stick with them. at least try another one. most of those, who had problems with asamis voice first, later loved it. I suggest their new "stand and deliver (shoot em down)" video, where the band is doing a lot of vocal harmonies. phenomenal.

This is an overview of LOVEBITES 55 self-written songs and 3 covers (plus 6+1 covers by band members) with your reaction marked with a star (*). All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her RUclips channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!
It took me a bit to get used to her voice. I would suggest listening to Stand and Deliver, a relatively new song by them. I think you'll find her voice grows on you. And thanks for doing a legit reaction, not just falling into... oh they're fabulous if you don't feel it.
Asami just sings normally. Do you just dislike regular, normal singing? I don't get it. She doesn't sing off key or anything like that. Call me confused. She has a really beautiful voice and it is very powerful.
@extremelywhitegirl2543 okay I can understand that. That has happened on a rare occasion to me where for some reason I wasn't crazy about the tone of a certain great singers voice.
I agree with the assesment. I checked them out last year and thought the music was all right, but kind of repetitive. Yeah, I'm not a fan of her voice. She's not bad or anything, but the vocals are the weak link. I went on a female J rock rabbit hole last year and discovered Bridear, who are amazing and talented and have great songs. That's when I first heard Lovebites
You know that English is not her primary language, you should at least give her a chance! Check out another song from them before you make your final judgement !! Edge of the World, live, would be a good example!!
Cheers for your reaction. Asami is a bloody Queen loved her voice immediately. 🤘

She's really great and sounds melodious to my ears lol
I just discovered Lovebites a few weeks ago and have only listened to 7-8 songs but they are already number one metal band for me especially in this era.
Love the song, but I don't think it is that great of an introduction to Lovebites, really. Rather check out Judgement Day or Stand and Deliver.
I suggest their new "stand and deliver (shoot em down)" video, where the band is doing a lot of vocal harmonies. phenomenal.
I respect people who react honestly like you. I'm a fan of LOVEBITES, but I think opinions like yours are important.
from Japan
They are my favorite band you should react to their song that's on their brand new CD album judgement day
Listen to the newer stuff like Judgement Day and watch the notes she's able to reach

But everybody's 'normal' voice sounds different. She doesn't sing off key, and she's a very talented singer, I just didn't like the sound of it.
@extremelywhitegirl2543 okay I can understand that. That has happened on a rare occasion to me where for some reason I wasn't crazy about the tone of a certain great singers voice.
Recomendé the songs " Epilogue"masterpiece,*A frozen serenade" "Edge of the world"
Not my flavor, but interesting
Yep, me too.
try epilouge great vocals
I agree with the assesment. I checked them out last year and thought the music was all right, but kind of repetitive. Yeah, I'm not a fan of her voice. She's not bad or anything, but the vocals are the weak link. I went on a female J rock rabbit hole last year and discovered Bridear, who are amazing and talented and have great songs. That's when I first heard Lovebites
Wolfpack loves Asami. If you dont... 😑
It happens. 🤷♀️
Love the music, though.
You know that English is not her primary language, you should at least give her a chance! Check out another song from them before you make your final judgement !! Edge of the World, live, would be a good example!!
I know that. I had no problem with it. I just don't like the sound of her voice. But I'll still react. I loved the music itself.
You sing better and do a better job , I doubt it very much at all , go and react to something else that won't be too hard for you to understand
Butthurt much? 🤣
