Our Melbourne studio reunited with Seth Macfarlane on tv series Ted, streaming exclusively on Peacock. Set in 1993, the series depicts the early life of sentient teddy bear Ted, as he lives with John Bennett and his family in Massachusetts. VFX Supervisor Glenn Melenhorst led the team, delivering over 2000 visual effects shots across the series.

Does the bear Ted have muscles and a skeleton. And just how many computer graphics PhDs worked on it?

He has a skeleton but no muscles. Because he's a cloth bear, we have simulated a stuufed cloth look with pulling and twisting that is baked back into the rig. This way he keeps his shape with nice little fabric wrinkles as he moves.
