Designing and Building a Floating Dock and Mounting Against a Seawall

This video covers design and installation of a small (6x10') floating dock for launching kayaks. I uses I-beam mounted vertically on which it travels up and down.

Your design looks very good. However I a concerned that you only used screws to hold it together. Bolts with back plates would give you a much longer life of the dock.

Yes. Thanks. You're right and actually I went back and bolted through the attachments to the sea wall. This project was on a budget and I had considered bolting the corners with galvanized brackets but dismissed due to cost of those brackets and all the hardware required. I considered that the wood would rot eventually and that I would probably just replace the dock anyway. Thanks for your suggestion!
