Another cracking video, Robin. Thanks. It is a credit to you and your style that you can keep me engaged for an hour using just one module. Easy listening in the best sense! On the down side, I have just had to add yet another thing to the "must have" list of things which I just can't afford. Oh well. As I said once before, I think I'm just going to have to make do with what I currently have - and, more importantly, enjoy what I currently have. Some of it may be getting a bit old and clunky, but I'm also getting a bit old and clunky, too!

Hey I remember you talking about starting a DIY series the other day. You should look into the 4MS Atoner it's one of many rad diy only modules. I've had my eye on it for a while, you can process it's internal oscillator *OR* an outside source into a bunch of clock pulses related to the original sound. I've been curious about it ever since I saw the "Polyrhythms are Polypitch" video.

Yeah that does look interesting - i'll add it to my list :)

    Tasty
would get this if i hadn't just splodged on a black wavetable vco
I've yet to even scratch the surface of that module and I''d imagine the graphic is a bit deeper.
but i do love Erica modules (ive got 8 of em in my rig atm)

Hey, is anyone here having trouble getting the Erica synths graphic VCO to play in tune? I’ve calibrated it and tried everything I could find online. I’ve tried turning the internal quantizer on and off, tried using an external quantizer, nothing works.

It reminds me of the Waldorf wave table synths.

how does this stack up to the e352

    • @MoltenMusicTech

Difficult to say as I've never used an E352. Feature wise it does let you draw waveforms on the device itself which is something ther E352 can only do in a software app. Otherwise the Graphic VCO looks a lot simpler :)

    • @MoltenMusicTech

      Which firmware update?

    • @mrdavrosjipo
      @mrdavrosjipo 6 лет назад

yes an update . if you go to mode then select live it says : patience my friend this feature will be coming in the next fw updates

Oh that update - nope, never heard any mention of it. Erica have said that they are working on the web editor but they have all these new drum modules to get out first. They've never told me anything about the supposedly forthcoming "Live" feature.

All I can think is that screen needed to be an OLED so you don't need a filter over it. Check out a cuckoo octatrack tutorial to see how to shoot one of those things. Sounds lovely though, and that's pretty important too.

What sort of filter? But no it’s not great on video.

No need for a filter. If the module does not have brightness level, then you should increase the light power overall to compensate the screen brightness, and then just to adjust that from your camera. Also an (CPL) Circular Polarizing Filter for the lens is great when shooting glass and screens, and outdoors usualy. :)
      cheers mate.

I think it's a brightness and contrast filter, and he masks it off so it just covers the screen portion of the shot. I think the specifics are going to be unique to the editting software you are using though.

Ah ok, but you can see it well enough though yes?

Honestly, not without going full screen. But when combined with the audio and your descriptions I can put together what's going on. edit: also, it's actually part of the review, since knowing it has an LED display that can't be seen readily from an angle is part of the evaluation process.

I looked into modular but it is too rich for my blood. If I had 20k to burn on music toys, sure it would be tons of fun but it is definitely not affordable. My synths cost less and do the same thing.
