1:40 Herāt is a Persian city and the mosque built there was from the earlier remains of Zoroastrian temple. People there not only speaks Persian but with a dialect really close to Tehran’s dialect while other Persians in Afghanistan mostly speak Dari dialect. Herāt used to be a Persian city until the British Raj took Baluchistān and other territories including Herāt from Persia.
There were no Hindus in Persia as the early Persians were historically Zoroastrians. Zoroastrians left Persia for India after Arab invasion so their places of worship was abandoned and it were eventually converted to mosques as the people converted to Islam.
