Irgens Innovation Campus| MMSD Green Luminary® Award

At nearly an acre and a half in size, Wisconsin’s largest green roof sits atop a two-story, 633-space parking structure at Innovation Campus in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Completed by Irgens during Phase I of development at Innovation Campus, the parking deck’s expansive green roof features solar panels and sedum vegetation that reduces carbon emissions and manages over 105,000 gallons of water every time it rains. In addition to the green roof, the development added over 28,000 square feet of native plantings that absorb and manage an additional 11,200 gallons of stormwater due to their deep-growing roots. The native plants minimize site maintenance and provide valuable habitat for wildlife and pollinators.
