The way her tone sounds makes it sound like she’s a ghost. Perhaps the nightmare mode is actually literally a nightmare after the main character saw Saiko die from the glass that she made trying to get him.

I think what they did to get that effect on Saiko-chan's voice was reverse the original audio files, added reverb to them, made them into their own audio files and then reversed it again.
