Australia Day is about celebrating our wonderful country. 26 January has been chosen as the date to do that and, for so long, the date suited everyone, just fine. Its a time to remember all of our achievements. A time to get together as family, friends and the community to enjoy a great day. In recent years, there has been too much debate about the political correctness of just about everything. You can't please everyone all the time, so let's go with the majority rules.
As for Mt Kosciuszko, just leave it as it is. It has worldwide recognition, it doesn't need changing.

Welcome to Country crap should be scrapped. They are well past their use by dates and are more divisive than anything else.

If they change it to a 'welcome to country' for Captain Cook and there onwards, I'm in, otherwise it's my back you get. It should be about the oldest Australians (aboriginals) and the First Nations (Aboriginal and Settlers) people, united, as one.

Hanson asking for people to turn their backs is just as bad as the divisive lecture given by Brendan Kerin. They are both ridiculous.
