      And I am happy you listened to it with us, I'm gonna start imagining you're in the room when recording, should brighten up the mood and release the on-camera anxiety that sometimes occurs (in this case plenty, cos the camera represented Adrienne... yes she saw it😎). Again and Again and Again is how I'm going with this as well and I can't wait for this album to be unleashed! And thaaaaaank you so much for watching with us! /Andrei

    Excellent excellent song. Put it immediately on a playlist as soon as those close harmonic vocals started at the beginning. I LOVE that kind of thing.
    The only thing I didn't like about the song was .. well I'm not sure how to describe it. It almost felt like there was a lot of space around each instrument - which was cool in that it let you easily pick out what everyone was doing; especially the drummer. But there were times it felt like a tracked recording instead of a band playing together, but that could've just been me. It's a very minor gripe, and probably just one that's unique to me and it's certainly not enough to keep me from listening to it regularly :D
    Also, fwiw, I've always pronounced it 'de-botch-ery,' assuming you haven't already done some research on the word after that recording lol

    • @thewindmillfullovcorpses
      @thewindmillfullovcorpses  3 года назад

      Super glad you like it man! The ritualistic intro is off-the-charts badass and sets such an ominous, infernal mood! I kinda get your gripe, I had it a tad bit with some songs from their previous album "Emerald Seas" where it felt like the low frequencies (drums and bass) were quite far apart from the more melodic aspects (vocals, guitars, orchestration), kinda leaving a gap in between, but I didn't necessarily find that a bad thing and with this one I feel they made the sound even thicker with the orchestrations. I actually just googled the word and now I feel like a total numnuts! /Andrei

    If you enjoyed this check out "Drowner Of Worlds" from their previous album, and "The Paradox" from their first album.
    Also check out Adrienne's vocal cover of Dimmu Borgir "The Serpentine Offering" and the full band cover of Dimmu Borgir "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse"

    Hey guys, I don't know if you know of First Fragment, but they are basically *the* gods of neoclassical tech death. They just released their first single for their new album, the song is called "Pantheum" and in it you can find EIGHTEEN solos, 6 of which are bass solos, in a 4 min 36 seconds song... lol. Seriously guys I know your list is super long and that's fine, this song is just amazing. If by any chance you will only react to this months down the line due to the long queue then I suggest you do any other singles released by then too.

    • @thewindmillfullovcorpses
      @thewindmillfullovcorpses  3 года назад

      Yoooo man, I have heard of First Fragment and they've been on my "To Listen" list for quite a while now! I would love to do this one especially since you mention the ridiculous amount of solos. Can it be more ridiculous than Dualis Flamel by Equipoise? (If you don't know what I'm talking about and solos are your thing then jump on it NAO!). /Andrei

    • @KytexEdits
      @KytexEdits 3 года назад

      @@thewindmillfullovcorpses See, the thing about Quebec tech death is that everyone is everywhere haha. Phil Tougas, one of the guitarrists in First Fragment (he's a founding member and iirc he writes a lot of the stuff?) is also in quipoise.
      And to answer your question, yes it's more insane but it's maybe slightly less dark, more neoclassical. They have an amazing lineup which includes Phil, and Dominic lapointe (Forest). You may know Forest as the guy from Beyond Creation who made bassists quit across the world :) I've listened to a ton of tech death and I always come back to FF, they're like necrophagist meets yngwie + large quantities of crack cocaine.
      Edit: If you guys don't want to wait to react I'd say just give it a listen, it's so good.

      @@KytexEdits We'll see what we do with this. We have plenty of stuff to listen to so at least for now I'll store it as a potential reaction, although we have too many of those already recorded as well. But yeah, now that you mention it, I think I did know he is in Equipoise and I know Forest Lapointe, he's not in BC now but I think he has both FF and another band called Augury? Is he also in that one? /Andrei

    The vocal really goddess killer dude, and when the kick drum started, that shake the silence before, awesome..
