Hi! I can seems to find the VtubeStudioSpout on my shoost... any ideas why? i already follow the installation guide on my obs
Hello! It can be one of two issues.
1. Spout2 is not activated on VTS. Please go to the photo camera tab on the top and scroll down to near the bottom. Activate it and it should show up
2. Spout2 is not activated on Shoost. Go to the settings tab and click on Spout Capture. Go to your layers and hit the right arrow on Layer 2 until you get to Spout capture and pick VTubeStudioSpout

Is there a way to use shoost on the model only but with transparent background that my screen/game is visible? If not i threw 5Dollar out of the window :D thought i can use this effect overall on the model only
You can set your gameplay as the background of shoost but it's not recommended.
I'm coming back to this now that I'm getting closer to my model being ready. I'm curious how this integrates with OBS. Can I set up multiple scenes in Shoost and switch between them, so I only have a single scene in OBS?
Shoost can only have one scene up at a time, but you can save and load presets. It's not a fast process so you would need some time to swap between them

I do have a question though: does this work with backgrounds that have transparency? I'm trying to figure out whether this is compatible with gameplay streams.
Any images you place into the program will retain transparency, but if you mean if the program has transparent capture on OBS, it does not.
However, you CAN put the game as a window capture in shoost but I don't personally recommend it. This program is mostly for standalone chatting streams. But if you want to experiment with gaming you can definitely try!

Thank you for this video! What sort of effect on performance does it have? And have you ever experienced crashing?
Shoost is a bit system intensive. You shouldn't have many issues running it when you're doing "Just Chatting" or ASMR streams, but running it while games are playing might cause problems.
The program does crash from time to time, usually when I'm doing too much at once.
@@deltaYUN That's a shame about the performance. I've got a pretty beefy computer, but it is a couple of years old by now. We'll see how it does once my model's done lol. Thanks for the reply!
How did you make it so that there is no background when you turn off chroma key for vtuberstudiospout? Mine had the green background over it rip
Are you using the "Color Picker" background? If not, switch to that and toggle "Transparent in Capture" and it should work

this is incredible, thank you! Is there a way to easily change the file depending on your scene? For example if I want the cool background for when I'm just chatting, but want to switch to no background when I change to my gaming scene
Can these features be bound to hotkeys? Clicking around a popup menu would mess up the moment when you want that shake/camera/etc. 🤣
As far as I know, they all have to be done manually. But if you use Spout2 capture, menus won't be captured

@@xArilitax recently, veadotube included a spout output so it could be used with shoost. I'm not sure about other things like pngtuber+ or other utilities that pngtubers use, but it's a possibility.
As for streaming, yes, you can go live with it on

You can subscribe once, download it and unsubscribe. You will not have access to updates in the future however.

thanks for the video! I try to save the scene but when I reopen this file.shoost, all my layer 3(bkground) etc are all gone, it's like a new empty scene, could you pls help? tysm
If it's a browser window, re-open the browser window and pick it again. If it's a file, make sure you didn't move, rename or delete the file you used in the first place. If you moved or renamed the file, find it again, then resave it.
it only works for 2d models? can we use it for 3d models as well?
It works with 3D Models as well, I've only used VSeeFace but as long as it has access to spout capture, NDI or a Green Screen, anything will work

Yes, you can use vseeface and capture your 3d models
how can you stream in obs with the shoost effect on it? i'm confused.. hehehe
In shoost: On the settings tab, turn on NDI or Spout capture (whatever one you use to stream)
In OBS: Download the Spout or NDI plugin, then add an NDI or Spout2 Capture source. When that's there, simply pick "shoost" as the source !
This is the best method so you don't show the UI of the program
What do I do if spout capture isnt showing up in the second layer???
Two reasons, try each of them.
1. Spout isn't on in vtube studio. Turn it on in your camera settings.
2. VTS isn't selected in shoost. You click all the way to the right and use the drop-down menu and select "VTubeStudioSpout"

Great tutorial all around but allow me to ask if there's a way to pull the model from shoost without the background in it to use it as dymanic lighting for gaming too
There's already a dynamic lighting feature built into VTube Studio called "Display Lighting" By going to the photo camera tab and scrolling down, you can choose between specific monitors and windows to make your model have dynamic lighting !

Yes you can. VSeeFace uses spout2 capture as well

Its permananent, but upgrades require you to be subscribed. SO you can pay $5 to get it now, then when a new update comes out, you can pay another $5

Hover over the edge of the setting screen (closest to the middle of your screen) and wait for it to turn green, then click.
If you mean in capture, use spout2 capture

It's preferred, but you can use NDI or screen capture with green screen if you're feel like making your life harder
