I'm the unofficial hvac service manager (also serviceman,installer and part time scheduler) for a sheet metal installation company and I've been working on streamlining service procedures with Measurequick, etc. I'm just wondering how you charge for a service like this. Do you have a flat rate for the basic job or do you bill hourly?
I charge for about 1.5 hours per system. Here in heat pump country we can do one yearly service, not 2. Gas may take longer since I would do combustion analysis as well either on this trip or a separate one. But when you think about it, if a service contract is $25/ month, it works out to around $200/ hour. Not a bad rate for maintenance.
