Israel was treated like a lepper because muslim countries didin't want to play with them. In 82 qualifiers israel played in the uefa region. And in 86 qualifiers in oceania region. Imagine going to the other side of the world to play games.

That Australia v Israel game had it all. How that forward wasn't red carded for the high lunge on the keeper is a mystery and the Israeli that lost the plot when he was sent off was funny.
And if I'm accurate there was a monumental stuff up when the National Anthems were played when after the Israeli anthem was played initially the German anthem instead of the Australian anthem followed.
