This anime is animated like shit, it's painful to watch... they ruined face expressions, ball physics, and the best scenes lost their edge. The 2018 anime was much, much better.
Btw Hyuga in this tournament is at his lowest as he's only used as a not versatile cannon. It showed he needed to learn a more technical way to play and that's what makes it much more satisfying when he carried so many matches in word youth and no keeper could stop his shots consistently other than Salinas (and he could just because he so happened to know the shot) he really proved himself there.

In my opinion, Captain Tsubasa J was way better than this 2018 especially Hyuga man he just like a beast with his raiju shot.

@rechtweez the thing is the J anime doesn't have much to add as they skipped the Paris tournament arc and even World youth which had such an outstanding first episodes only has them and nothing else as it was never finished (i think those are still the best episodes ever done with animated captain tsubasa).
I never watched the rest of captain J as I know it doesn't adapt well as it changes a lot of things. (I would've if there was anything else animated after the middle school arc)
I think overall the 2018 anime never did better than those few episodes of J world youth but I still think it's solid and pretty good unlike this which to me feels like torture. I compared this to 2018 because it's a direct sequel.

The manga up to here has ended but the creator is thinking of a sequel
Although if you want, the game captain tsubasa dream team has a permanent event called "next dream" where they continue off the ending of rising sun
It's partially voiced and there's quite a few chapters(20+)
They also go into the lives and futures of the other characters like hyuga(guy in vid) instead of just tsubasa
