- i was talking to the guy at Hunters Lodge and he told me that there were these Drill Purpose rifles that were coming up soon and they were from Africa. I asked how much were they $88 and $20 more hand select and i used my C&R. 5 weeks later i had it. Most of the parts on this rifle are well worn and I wouldn't recommend them to be used on a rifle that would shoot. time codes 0:00 intro 2:20 unboxing 2:48 first look 4:43 disassembly 6:24 cleaned parts 7:51 bolt obstruction 9:16 sign off
Wow, I can't get over how well preserved that rifle is. It's definitely a super cool DP rifle! Thanks for sharing!
What a remarkable piece of history! Congrats on the acquisition. Beautiful work cleaning it up, by the way.
Thanks
Hey RUSTY a drill purpose rifle rifle from Africa cool
Hi Rusty. What a unique DP rifle. Looks like its in great shape too! Very cool. Glad you shared it with us.
Thanks Midwestern .. The stock and the bolt are warn out but the rest of the parts are OK. Thanks for watching !!
Thats in pretty good condition, the grease really preserved it. I would say its likely a 1916/1917 date vs 1911 given that its a Mk III*.
tfusilier Ya i really did know the date was warn off. Hindered an ten year old. Really the parts are warn out but will make a great wall hanger. THANKS for the info ! and watching.
Cleaned up nicely brother .👍🏻👍🏻
Cool love to see it.
thanks for the review, I had been wondering about those. tempting to buy one to reactivate. love the script on the stock.
Robert ya i think they could be reactivated. you would need a machine shop to drill out the small piece of metal that is in there. Now i will say the rifle it's self is pretty well warn out and there are a lot of good parts too. THANKS for watching.
Hey Rusty cool rifle and video !
😎👍🇺🇸
Hi Rusty! I don't know the first thing about guns but this video was still pretty interesting 😄 I do have an acquaintance who happens to be a gunsmith so if you ever find yourself out here in NC I might have to introduce you two!!
P.S. would love to know what that strange writing says if you find out, plus it was so cool to see my Schlee sun behind you!! 💛🩵
Schlee cool you saw the sticker. 😁
👍👍.......... bring it to a smith to remove the weld.
Hey Mega ya a machine shop could just drill it out easy.. but the parts are warn out might not be real safe. THX for watching.
@@STEVEOMEMES , Didn't know the parts were that worn out ... that's too bad .. glad I got my Milsurp's before the Buyden Years for the most part although I still checkout Pawn n LGS.. I did pick up a FR-8 n CZ-27 with holster n 2 mags for excellent prices so if I find something I still collect.. Since I still have Spam Cans of M-75 Yugo .8mm, 54r, 51 Nato, .45acp, .9mm, 7.62x25, ect. I've been using them and reloading these cal.'s to match POI.. Happy Easter MB..
@@MegaBait1616 Very cool .. Happy Easter.
Did the rifle have Sudanese markings as well? Or just on the stock?
Just on the stock.. just a SMLE 111 on the wrist marking. Desert they are a great wall hanger.. some good parts and mostly warn out. I think Hunters Lodge has them for $50 kinda good deal. Thanks for watching !! DP rifle.
Very cool. Seems crazy to screw up a rifle like that just for training?
ration hi ya .. I thing they get so warn out there is nothing left to do with them. This one still has a few good parts. THANKS for watching !
Did you request an African one?
Hello Desart No.. they only have the African ones. They dont have any of the DP rifles from India. I think the African / Sudan rifles are hit or miss just like the India/ Ishapor rifles. Thanks for watching. I subed ya too.
