I have been an enthusiast and owner for over 30+ years and currently own an E83 3.0si. I enjoy the dynamics of the vehicle but deplore any plastic used in the mechanical aspects to reduce weight and perhaps in my opinion suffer on durability. If BMW continues in this direction with their newer vehicles, it will be a hard sell to me in continuing my love and joy of these magnificent machines.
I have a '19 X3 which is leased. It has spent almost 2 months at dealerships for repairs. Name part of the car and I can almost guarantee there has been an issue with it. The brakes keep warping under normal use, it blows through tires in less than 10k miles, the tailgate opens randomly on its own, Ive had all keys replaced, the collision avoidance system triggers unexpectedly and the full camera system has been replaced, the passenger seat kept alarming as if someone was in it, the idrive system has been crashing and has now been replaced, and lastly the driver seat frame somehow broke in 2 years of normal use. BMW build quality has gone way downhill and the lack of accountability is shameful. This car qualifies as a lemon and BMW offered $2000 to me but will not take the car back without litigation which will likely take longer than I have left on my lease.
BMW in my opinion is the best brand in the last 20 years, I used five X 5 models, one X 6, GT6, GT 3, 430d Cabrio, and two 5 model cars, but the seats in all the cars were not comfortable, the lordosis did not support the back down below . I have to use an inflatable bag))))
Currently an all electric car from one of the big German brands is way above my price range, but I know that once the technology becomes more readily available prices will drop and become more affordable which is a necessity if electric cars are going to be adopted by everyone. Until then my X3 (G01) 2.0D M-Sport will more than suffice.
I'AM BMW LOVER..FOR EVER! Electric is commecial...........not futur.......but electric design its one touche of detail, beauty! I like much!! Details and Colors on chassi*...top! but new the grills of 4 series and new series is very much ugly..all mew design grills!!..i dont like a bmw (fahr*) I am very sad :(

Waiting for the ix3 to see what are the real figures in terms if autonomy and performances.
I had the second gen X3 and am now driving the X4, my next car will definitely be all electric. So far this X3 electric doesn’t really excite me.
